    CL Round 3: Barca - Bayern 4-1

Good to see you lads have sorted it out, Zeni and Grande, you both support the same team and are good posters. Better to get on, especially after a night like tonight.

    Hans-Dieter Flick

He seems a good guy and is a very good coach. Hope he can keep this going. I am sure he can with the right preparation and hard work - he seems very professional and serious about his job. I voted neutral because I wasn't sure either way, but the guy is doing excellently. Long may it continue.

    Harry Kane

Just seen this pic. Off-topic I know but he really does have a similar facial shape and structure to Ryan Gosling.

    10 - Lamine Yamal

He got an assist and had one or two really excellent crosses that could have been converted. But what I like about the lad is he's very Messi-like in that he doesn't need to always get goals and assists to influence a game - he can do it with his link-up play, passing, dribbling etc.

    Iñaki Peña (loaned to Elche)

He was ok, not good or bad I don't think. Still the best goalkeeper on the pitch as Neuer was laughably poor and looks really finished.

    Harry Kane

Not a remark on tonight, though I thought he did well in the first half, but he's so good at dropping deep and so good in the box too. It's a shame he can't clone himself and play with himself (oo-er).

    Hans-Dieter Flick

Bit pedantic but wasn't the pottery scene while he was still alive? Might be wrong, decades since I have seen Ghost.

    8 - Pedri

Might get destroyed for saying this but that music is quite good and suits the composed, effortless quality of Pedri in the video.

    10 - Lamine Yamal

The thing is they are so finished as a club that they could probably buy the 'next Yamal' and end up turning him into Lingard. They still don't realise their problems go far beyond one saviour of a player. At Barca, Yamal is supplemented by other excellent players. At United you'd have one...

    Champions League 2024-25

Here's how it went for me tonight - four out of nine correct outcomes. Not great but to be fair there were a lot of surprises - other than Inter, Liverpool and Man City, which were all in the high 90s, every other outcome (other than Barca) was predicted by fewer than 20 percent of players, and...

    8 - Pedri

Yep. People said (as with Yamal, Fati and Gavi) he was playing too much too early and it would ruin him. That seems to be the case with Fati but the other three I think that won't happen. They do need to be rested though as they're all still young (especially Yamal). It's only the injuries that...

    Diego Simeone

It's gone stale for him now. How long has he been there now? 12 years or so?

    8 - Pedri

He's always been an incredible talent. Only thing that can prevent him being one of the best players in the world is injuries stalling him. His calmness and composure in tight spaces is striking and Xavi-esque. Not even 22 yet either. Future is bright.

    Liverpool

I think Birdy agrees with you that it is more effective - by like it less he probably means he finds it worse to watch. Personally I like both styles. as I said before Klopp in second half of his spell had already began to move to a 'safer' more controlled style.
  15. Maradona37

    23 - Jules Kounde

He's very good defensively, I think very solid and steady. If Balde can be more expansive on the left then it adds balance to have a flying full-back on one side and more conservative one on the other. Not saying Kounde is necessarily bad going forward, just that his strengths lean towards...

    16 - Fermín López

He's a class act. Full of energy and vitality on the pitch, and good technique too.
  17. Maradona37

    10 - Lamine Yamal

Let's hope so and I think you're right. The reason I don't commit to statements like that is I am a naturally cautious person and always think about worst case scenario. Or in your words 'a self hating pessimist'

    Champions League 2024-25

Not a great evening for me in predictor, but to be fair I think tonight will be low-scoring as there were a lot of surprises. I will post the result later. To be fair only 32 percent of people predicted Barca to win and I was one of them, which is great. However, I should maybe have more balls...

    11 - Raphinha

The hat-trick goal was very Rivaldo-esque: a left-footed, diagonal, driven low shot that seemed to glide along the grass and nestle in the bottom corner. Seen that fairly often from Rivaldo.

    5 - Pau Cubarsí

Lol have seen him several times now and he's clearly going to be world-class and a leading centre-back of the new generation. Assuming he avoids the usual stuff (injuries or problematic women, lol).
