    New goalkeeper?

Born in 88. He just looks like it was 1888, not 1988.

    Diego Maradona

Yes that is the obvious caveat - these players would have access to today's training methods and nutrition or sports science to enable them to be sufficiently fit for the era. After that, their natural talent does the rest. Like you say, it's impossible to compare across time and space.

    Diego Maradona

I once seen someone say Pele would be lucky to make Norwich's bench. I know they were being serious too. I have heard other mad stuff, like Pele would be Grealish level now at best (I do rate Grealish, but come on...) Never underestimate young people's disrespect and cluelessness of the...

    Serie A

Fior won 1-0 in the end, late goal from Gosens. How did they play? They're doing well this season - always liked them because of Batistuta, and because my old 5/7 a side football team I played for used to wear an all purple kit.

    Ángel Di María

He's always been one of my favourites. One of the best players of his generation, and I was stunned when Real Madrid sold him.

    Ángel Di María

    Magical finish that.

    Ángel Di María

    Had to google Scherbatsky.

    La Liga 24/25

Yeah these people don't have any qualifications to talk like this, as far as I am aware. It's fine having an opinion but they talk like they're the oracle. Then again, we give our opinions on here and we are in the same boat. Maybe I'm being too harsh. As others have said, fans can be smarter...

    Serie A

I've gone Genoa 1-3 Fiorentina, Como 0-2 Lazio (unsure most of this one) and Roma 2-0 Torino tonight. I am backing the favourites again, Safe and sensible, but sometimes comes back to haunt you as it did last night. We will see how it goes.

    Diego Maradona

Lol he was on the wind up. Hard to tell in written form with no emojis, though.

    Cristiano Ronaldo

It lost its credibility when Ronaldo robbed Ribery, lol. Messi deserved it that year. Or Modric ;) Ronaldo poor in CL Final and World Cup (goes against Messi too).

    Diego Maradona

No need to put Maradona down as a player to elevate Messi. They're the two best, most talented players ever most likely. They both have their pros and cons. Sure most prefer Messi these days but I don't think it is that clear cut.

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

He's got twice as many dribbles as any player (Hazard in second) since he's been playing  And more than double the MOTM, lol. He's a genius.

    Premier League 24/25

That's true in the sense of going on a run. On the other hand, Swansea were the last non top 6 club to win the trophy, back in 2013. Since then Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool and Man United have won it only. In fact since 2016 only City, United and Liverpool have won it.

    The Dutch Eredivisie

They don't run a game for the League Cup. The do for FA Cup.

    The Dutch Eredivisie

I am sure it will come back around - some weeks are good, some are not so good. Also, most of what I got wrong is Scottish football - which ironically is what I tend to know least about.
  17. Maradona37

    The Dutch Eredivisie

Yeah it was one of those. That's why some PL weeks are higher than others in scores on there - some weeks have more 'straightforward games' and other weeks have tighter games in general. For what it i worth I did have a good Serie A gameweek in general - I moved up 24 places in one of my...

    The Dutch Eredivisie

@Horatio @Temptation @Fati_Future_BallonDor @Loki So a pretty mediocre night last night. 4 greens and 6 reds. To be fair, though, the outcomes I got wrong were mostly pretty big upsets. It can take a lot of courage to predict an upset as the odds are against it and you know most will predict...

    10 - Lamine Yamal

Fair point mate - noticed those very small actions myself. Something to think about. On the other hand, these are minor issues and he seems remarkably level-headed for a 17 year old. I was fucked up at 17  I am sure many of us were. What you suggest could transpire, but it could also go...

    Aurelien Tchouameni

More of a fan of Camavinga myself, though he isn't looking looking great himself at this moment. Tchouameni just seems like a solid, steady eddie type on his best day. Maybe I am undervaluing him though. He's 24 now so out of the rookie part of his career, even if he's still youthful.
