    Sunny's Barca

He runs back when positioning to cut off passing options, intercept, etc. as opposed to running up to put pressure, tackling, etc. Sweeper vs Stopper

So it's not bad to overspend on a player just because other clubs are willing to overspend even more???

    1 - Marc-Andre ter Ansplant

Would be really happy to get him. Would be a sign that the club has the ability to make the right choices. Next thing is to see how they handle the CB situation.

    Neymar - v2

Honestly the one thing I am hoping for is that Neymar pulls a Hazard and joins Bayern if they win the CL. Pep+CL trophy= perfect chance for him to jump on the Bayern bandwagon and waste their money

    Thiago Translantara

Xavi isn't gonna be a starter in our midfield much longer and Fabregas+Iniesta has been absolutely abysmal many times without the control that a Xavi-esque player provides. Thiago is no longer a youngster who we can afford to give playing time to, he's a fully significant squad member who we...

    Thiago Translantara

Although the priority is that Thiago stays, Barcelona will analyze offers they receive. Bayern Munich are interested in the midfielder. [md] What the hell. 1. Barca would be absolutely stupid to consider any offers for Thiago 2. Are Bayern trying to take every talented player in the world...

    Bernard Anício Caldeira Duarte

Bernard isn't at the levels of Gotze but at the same time you can't always write a player off just because they play in Brazil. Bernard's style would flourish in both Europe and Brazil. A guy like Neymar on the other hand can't do half the stuff he would always try to do against top notch defenses.

    7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Liverpool have done brilliantly with Coutinho (and Sturridge). The scariest thing is that they look like they can still get much better. Bravo to Rodgers.

    DonAndres's Barca

I do have faith in Pique for the sweeper role. Being back there in all that space in a new role that requires him to be isolated will ask more of him and he will be forced to focus and observe the game while positioning himself continuously. He'd thrive in a role like this and work harder to...

    Gerard Deulofeu

No way in hell... Look at all the highlight reels you want but that doesn't change the fact that for every neat skill he did, there were 10 failed overdribbling attempts where he got dispossessed. For every amazing shot he had, there were 10 that he skied into the stands. Ronaldo was a player...

    Gerard Deulofeu

It's pretty obvious that it's much harder to break into the current Barca and Spain setup than the United/Portugal one that Ronaldo did. Plus Deulofeu plays at a club where selfishness is absolutely looked down upon whereas they were more lenient with Ronaldo's bad habits. And you act as if...

    Gerard Deulofeu

It's pretty much confirmed that he'll be promoted, I think they're just saving the announcement for when they decide how many of the other players will be promoted too (Roberto, Muniesa, Rafinha) or whether the others will be sent out on loan.

    Manchester City

Feel sorry for Mancini but he clearly did not make the best out of his squad at all. Looking past basic results, the team could not keep consistency this season and showed no sign of real improvement in Europe.

Bernard would be a brilliant transfer from Klopp and seems able to fit right into Dortmund's system

    Daniel Alves

I agree with your sentiment but there's no point in trying to shove him into our defensive line at times when he is simply not the player we need. He'll still be an important player but he's kind of weening down as Montoya succeeds him. That's why next season should actually be better for him...

Amen. And by practice crosses I mean day and night.

Transfers and Rumours - old thread

Did pretty great this season in the CL group stages. And note that this is especially impressive because Ajax were minnows in the group compared to Dortmund, City, and Madrid.

    Gerard Deulofeu

As for the Cristiano-Deulofeu argument, Cristiano was obviously the better player due to more exposure at top level but much more flawed than Deulo would be had he been playing in the top flight at 19. Ronaldo was a FAR more selfish player with horrible decision making and often got...
