    Andrés Iniesta

Good point there. However whatever pressure he applies is very beneficial to our often over-exposed LCB and LB. He helps maintain solidity even when there is none. Not saying he's an outstanding defender or anything like that, just that whatever contribution he provides defensively helps a lot...

    Andrés Iniesta

Once again depends on who's being marked. Alexis/Pedro most of the time only pressure fullbacks. Iniesta faces midfielders, wingers, forwards, etc. and sometimes in counterattacking situations which are difficult to defend.

Welcome Mike, glad to have you around you seem like a very pleasant person.

    Andrés Iniesta

That being said you wouldn't find any stats that appreciate Iniesta's positioning work which is his main defensive quality. Interception stats technically don't appreciate positioning work either because for that to be the case the opponent would've had to attempt a pass in the first place...

    Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

If he shows signs of illness/relapse then the job really isn't for him. And that's not something hastily said to cover up the fact that some people want him gone, it's actually a legitimate reason because while having the job of Barca manager may be a dream, it shouldn't be at the cost of one's...

    Andrés Iniesta

Go a little easy. It's not absolute MADNESS that he doesn't notice Iniesta's defensive qualities. I mean it's not what initially comes to mind when you think of Iniesta, but something you'd learn through careful observation. Not noticing Iniesta's passing or dribbling skills would be madness...

    Gerard Deulofeu

I'm sorry but he wouldn't get playing time at Liverpool. They've just signed 2 forwards, are going for Mkhitaryan, and have guys like Sturridge, Sterling, Suso, maybe Suarez, etc. who are above him in the pecking order. He should go to Sevilla or Celta.

    Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

I agree that his performance as manager this season was less than spectacular overall. However the absence problems next season might be something like 4 games max, not 3 entire months. He might have learned from his mistakes so I don't think it's rational to sack him so quickly after a season...

    Andrés Iniesta

Pressuring fullbacks into kicking it out of play isn't the same as providing cover for an isolated defender who needs time to run back and get into position. All tackles are recorded the same in stats but what Iniesta does sometimes could be pretty important in preventing a goal.

Sorry man, I had to

    Andrés Iniesta

I'd say he's better defensively than Pedro/Alexis who always get credit for that sort of workrate. The Don isn't DM good, but he does have pretty good positional intelligence. He stands his ground and contains opposing players very well deep on the left-center area so that Alba has time to run...

    Adrián Bernabé

I don't like comparisons that lead to young hype (next Messi, next CR) but comparisons between players at the young age seem to be more fitting (Deulofeu and Jese, Oliver and Samper, etc.)

    Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

The football we played in the first half of the season was very good, after Tito's illness it went downhill and became sloppy. That's not to say that Tito can be excused just because of that spell of absence, because even when he returned the team wasn't playing that well. All I'm saying is that...

    Adrián Bernabé

The kid looks really good but it's early to make such comparisons and wouldn't help him in the long run. How does Adrian compare to that other little Malaga wonderkid, Brahim Abdelkader Diaz?

The board was horrible as well in dealing with the mess but Bielsa only added fuel to the fire with his horrible man management

Transfers and Rumours - old thread

That'd basically be paying Chelsea 20 million euros to give Torres season tickets to watch Barca play from the bench.

FC Barcelona: Win of the youth system

I don't even know how you guys know so much about this while I struggle to find streams for B team matches  Goes to show I'm not very good at surfing around the internet

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

So he's a child for a few incidences that really aren't serious problems?

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

Being that young, I think it can be forgiven. Same deal with one or two dives/on pitch incidents he had around that age. Considering that his negative aspects are few in number and related to him not playing, I don't find it to be sufficient evidence that he's a childish and power hungry person.
