I'm not blaming the entire result on him, just assessing his personal performance. And I agree, with more rest we'll see a much better playing Xavi more often rather than a 50% player who is king statistically but doesn't add much life to the team in reality.

One good game doesn't change much. He's still very inconsistent and definitely shouldn't be a transfer target.

Spain aren't in as much control without the double pivot but I don't think it should be Xabi. He slows down the play a lot while someone like Martinez would be the preferred option in my opinion.

He's proven once again he's far from the player he was before. I don't understand how people still say that he can start for another 2-3 seasons. Maybe as a correct and accurate passer, but not nearly as much of a positive impact as before.
