It's also about relative motives. Messi is always looking for a way to score a goal or create a goal in a direct manner, Iniesta is more about setting up a play and doing more foundation work.

Suso was the better performer today but I don't think Oliver was that bad, just a bit quieter and going on about his business rather than being the center of things. They didn't seem complacent as a team, rather the misguidance in attack kept them from actually channeling forward or finishing well.

It's not 100% statistical is it. Iniesta isn't as attack minded of a player so obviously assist/key pass stats compared to Messi wouldn't be the same. It's really weird how you make football out to be a game purely based off of statistics, in a way that would point to Messi being the best player...

    Thiago Silva

The club hasn't been exactly forceful or prioritizing in their transfers but they'd have to be insanely stupid not to buy a CB.

    Pedro Rodriguez

The same could be said for around half our lineup for the 12/13 season. It's not just about the players, it's about how well you use them. If the team is playing extremely well as a unit, then players like Pedro would look very impressive if not world class. Obviously he has had a personal dip...

    Thiago Silva

That's the thing. The only real key aspect that Silva brings over Marquinhos that would actually make an impact is leadership, but for how long? He's not exactly a young player and that one leadership aspect isn't enough to warrant more than 45m for a short term transfer. Marquinhos offers all...

Iniesta has better vision, Xavi did before but I can't say the same anymore.

    FIFA U20 World Cup

Overall the WC loss was honestly due to lack of finishing and attacking ability. Defensively they were relatively solid, midfield was amazing, but in forwards they could only really rely on Jese because of a poor overall tournament from Deulo and lack of other options.

    Thiago Translantara

You make a point but there still were games where Thiago was unnecessarily benched, especially the last few matches where they could've kept his buyout clause from going down to 18m.

    Thiago Translantara

I'm not just thinking about the outright number of games. I'm talking about specifics, like when Xavi was obviously injured/fatigued and when our CL campaign was finished and the league was pretty much won.

Relying on Jese and Paco to pull out some brilliance in the final minutes

    Thiago Translantara

Lack of playing time, especially in games where it's clear he deserves to play and they can afford to do so.
