    Copa del Rey 2013/2014

Athletic are up 2-0 vs Celta right now, Mallo sent off. Muniain with a goal and MOTM performance so far on his birthday

    Mateo Musacchio

Mateo Pablo Musacchio; born 26 August 1990 in Rosario, Santa Fe) is an Argentine footballer who plays for Villarreal CF in Spain, as a central defender. We've been linked with him quite heavily in recent weeks, probably due to the Barca-Villareal game in which he performed very well. What do...

    Timo Werner

and he's 17 years old..? Damn that's impressive. Anyone other than Chelsea after him?

    Copa del Rey 2013/2014

I doubt Valencia would challenge them much, and Athletic are currently 1-0 down to Celta so it's unsure if we'll continue. Madrid-Atletico is now a very exciting and competitive tie so I'd look forward to it.

    Mario Gotze

It wasn't that heavy of a deflection at all, would've been a great shot either way.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v3

    Overhyped :coffee:

    Thiago Translantara

Are you really going to criticize a 22 year old for not being at the same level of Xavi, Iniesta, and Cesc? Xavi himself was limping his way through the 2nd half of the season, hardly playing at the same grand standard that he is often held to. It's not about the level he was at in comparison to...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v3

    I heard this guy's pretty good :eusa_think:

    Sergi Samper

Rafinha and Suarez are probably better than Roberto, Espinosa doesn't seem like he'll make it to the first team so he should move to a midtable liga side.

    Thiago Translantara

Roberto may be a "safer" player than Thiago but he has far less to offer. Thiago played pretty well when he got minutes, controlled games and he was good going forward as well.

Do you just go around looking for a thread in which to oppose the consensus opinion?

    9 - Luis Suárez - v1

I'm sure that they'd select him no matter what, I just hope he doesn't choose to go there. A lot of players go to Madrid despite it being glaringly obvious that they shouldn't, we'll see if Suarez follows suit in that tradition.

    9 - Luis Suárez - v1

Unbelievably talented player. People comparing him and Aguero a lot but to me it's fairly obvious that Suarez is the better of the two. Aguero's goalscoring streak is great but he's riding on form right now, he is a player who complicates play a lot and doesn't give assured and innate...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

I could care less about the media's useless tirade. The only focus should be on Messi getting as fit as possible and being ready to bulldoze through the 2nd half of the season in both la liga and CL, starting with a game-changing performance vs City.

    Gerard Deulofeu

Only @Youngcules has reported that prognosis whereas official ones say he'll be out for only a few weeks. It'll be around halfway in between both estimate time periods I'd expect.

    1 - Marc-Andre ter Ansplant

Interesting, I don't think pressuring him to make a decision would work in favor of Gladbach. We'll know fairly soon what his answer is and that'll allow our board to focus on signing other necessary players (that is, if they choose to sign anyone )

    La Liga 2013/2014

He's never been a good LB and yes, he occasionally does make errors but coming from someone who's watched every Athletic game this season he is very consistent for such a young player (most of his errors were at the beginning of the season if at all). Varane at his peak was unbelievable but...

    La Liga 2013/2014

I've thought this too, made a player thread on him last season. He's amazing on the ball, physically and aerially dominant, has decent speed, and can tackle very well. He's still young and learning a lot, but he really reminds me of a perfected version of Pique. He has pretty much surpassed...

    Mario Gotze

Neymar has done more and is more developed than Gotze, but I wouldn't dare say he's a bigger talent. Both are around equal in terms of potential IMO

    5 - Carles Puyol

It's a very logical course of action and it has been this way for a while, but seeing it now as a reality is a very sad thing to think about. Puyol is one of a kind and even if he can't offer us much football-wise anymore, his retirement would still be a huge loss.
