    Hans-Dieter Flick

Yeah. I hadn't thought of him for a while, but you mentioning him instantly transported me to 2011, playing FIFA online on PS3 as a 29-year-old. Sometimes going Dortmund and running riot with Lukasz Piczczek, Marcel Schmelzer, Großkreutz, Jakub Błaszczykowski (had to copy and paste this guy's...

    Hans-Dieter Flick

There's a forgotten name from the early 2010s.

Football needs to reduce the number of games, not increase the number of subs. Five subs is already destroying the rhythm of many games.

Ah right, people saying it about MATS.

I dunno, who said that? I have said since day one that every pass over 30 yards goes out the pitch or to the opponents. Also, true on Newcastle. Though they're already getting their excuses in and saying the league is irrelevant for them anyway lol.

    Alejandro Garnacho

I know some like him, but he's been really dreadful for ages and gets worse every week. Above average pace, but not lightning, poor dribbler, can't link up, can only cross along the floor, not high, and even then fails to pick people out or put it in good areas often, no football IQ, weak...

    Nico Williams

Yeah I agree. The finances for Barca aren't in great shape and it makes more sense to strengthen in other areas, if even possible. He seems a luxury buy.

They have Newcastle at St James' Park on Sunday afternoon. Newcastle are fighting for CL places so they should take it seriously and really should be winning with their superior physicality, hunger, technique and scoring prowess. Plus Amorim might rest players for this second leg.

    Nico Williams

He has his uses in some ways, but he is likely limited. One good thing is he links up well with Yamal for Spain. I am on the fence. Part of me thinks he's decent, another thinks he's a low IQ speed merchant. Can't make mind up. Not being able to beat a poor Rangers team when they're done to...

Makes some good points that boy (don't agree with everything, but some). Garnacho, Ugarte and Hojlund are indeed all awful.

    Nicolò Barella

Put it in here too since has now has two threads He's been fantastic for years, as I said to Gazz in my response in the De Jong thread (who is also doing very well right now, incidentally). It doesn't matter to him whether it's Inter or Italy, he does his job well. He works hard, passes well...

He's been brilliant for years - one of my favourites

    José Mourinho

Fair points but this is a bit disingenuous lol. Chelsea were never really a serious contender, at best an upper mid-table team. Mourinho came in when Abramovich bankrolled the club, so he had much more money and resources than previous coaches did (though they did spend a good amount in the 90s).

Also I have been saying this since he first joined United, but some of them persisted and maintained that his distribution is world-class. I don't know what they watch - short range it is fine but anything over 30 yards goes straight to the opposition or out of the park. Think he had a long...

    Ousmane Dembélé

The lad has a lot of talent that he's finally fulfilling (he's always had loads of ability) but he needs to maintain next season annd beyond. One great season isn't enough and can be labelled a purple patch. Personally I think he can maintain a top class level from here. He's clearly a very...

    Europa League

McCoist talks bollocks in my opinion. Whoever it was that beats Propper and is then cleaned out by him (think it was Inaki) is through on goal in the box. Yeah he's going away slightly but he has enough time to bring it round and get a shot away against Kelly. For me it is definitely a red...

    Manchester United

Both teams were a bit languid, though lots of chances in game for both sides. Good to see United concede with the last kick of the game, lol. Onana really is rubbish though, sold both goals.

    Hans-Dieter Flick

Yeah PSG faltered in the league phase. They then had to nagivate the play-off round. They weren't as good pre Xmas but since signing Kvara and since Dembele hit form (as well as the rest of their team) they have peaked at just the right time. That's why they're so dangerous - they're doing well...
