Yeah I know intent doesn't matter. But I am sort of a bit peeved by that rule so I make a point of pointing it out whenever something like that happens lol and applying my own rules. I can understand why intent isn't a consideration, but I sometimes think it should be too. Unfortunate accidents...

Yeah I was half being sarcastic. But it was the follow through too. There wasn't really much Lewis could do about it. Seemed unfortunate. I have only seen one angle though and only half watching so might be wrong.

Lol never a red card, come on.

Just as an aside, Mortal Kombat probably has the best lore and storylines of any fighting game series. Though Street Fighter is often more fun in gameplay.

    Alessandro Del Piero

Also as you and others said number 10s or trequartista players don't exist as much now. And Italy loved those players traditionally

    Alessandro Del Piero

Yeah it's quite a little quirk the number 20 Chiesa wouldn't have been as good as them but he could have been world class. Injuries destroyed him

    George Best

Good shout . The Brazilians of europe. You could add prosinecki too The likes of xavi and modric and rodri are good too in the sense of evading challenges in midfield in tight spaces. Messi and maradona being the top two shows how genius they are. Because best, r9, Ronnie, garrincha etc were...

    Alessandro Del Piero

Will watch it later on phone right now. Thanks Your memory and attention for detail in this case are better than mine as id never have made the number 20 link. Baggio was a step up from both and baggio at USA 94 was by far above any of their tournaments, despite the shootout miss.

    George Best

Yeah he sprang to mind Other contenders not named. Jimmy Johnstone, neymar, iniesta, Michael laudrup, Ben arfa, cruyff was a good dribbler, Zidane, robben, di Maria, Stanley Matthews and so on

    Alessandro Del Piero

Yeah I agree..I meant totti was great at roma that got him the nod for Italy. But aye as you say they both underwhelmed for the nt.The likes of piro, cannavaro and grosso were better than totti when they won the WC in 2006.

    Edgar Davids

Yeah people think he was just aggressive and a terrier but he was a very technically accomplished footballer. A few people have mentioned him to me since I started wearing the glasses lol
  12. Maradona37

    Alessandro Del Piero

Yeah for me the young del piero of that time was better than tptti ever was. But later on totti was better, as shown by him generally being selected for Italy over Alessandro. True. Totti is something of an imbecile lol.

He has glaucoma. I have keratoconus, which is something different and affects my left eye.

    Edgar Davids

Bumping because as a guy who has to wear glasses, I can play football without them. But my vision isn't perfect with nothing on, so I wear football glasses like he did. It's too dangerous to wear normal glasses as they can shatter in your eye if the ball hits you in the face. It's actually...

    Alessandro Del Piero

Haven't read the thread hence might have been discussed already, but was he better than Totti? I always preferred Totti, but young Del Piero before all the injuries was exceptional.
  17. Maradona37

    George Best

Just bumping, as this seems a fitting thread but it could really go in several players threads. Who do you think are the top 5 dribblers of all time, or at least of players we have seen a bit of either live or in footage? Could it be (in no order) Messi, Maradona, Garrincha, R9 and Best...

    Arjen Robben

Top shout - liked him since France '98.
  19. Maradona37

    Arjen Robben

Yeah mate I understand Forgot Vicente. Loved him and Joaquin at Valencia. Robben was just a supreme player, absolutely loved watching him. He created absolute danger every time he got the ball. He was electric.

Do you wish Barca played in 2025 FIFA Club World Cup?

As I said can see both sides of the argument. But I ultimately voted no, for two reasons: From a Eurocentric POV, it's a pointless tournament (though as I said that could change with the benefit of hindsight); Player welfare. I really feel for players having to play this much football. Yes I...
