Well he should be scoring 40 in that league given what Immobile is doing. Only the last 11 games he has really got going.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Ronaldo saw the writing on the wall with Madrid and left to stat pad in Italy. Messi should have left for England 2 or 3 years ago.

    Lionel Messi - v7

He's showed moments of class in a few games because you don't lose that talent. I wouldn't say Eibar was a vintage performance either, it's just the one game he's been able to finish for shit. Dare I say it, that's the kind of game he shines in now, against La Liga crap at home. The thing is...

Valverde sacking and Suarez injury have deflated him. Look at his performance in the Fraudverde's last game against Pathetico - that was the last time we saw vintage Messi.

    Lionel Messi - v7

He never looks like scoring anymore unless it's a set piece (Penaldo or a free kick in ideal posiiton) or an Eibar at home. He can't carry this team anymore, they just aren't good enough and he's getting older.

    End of an era.

    Lionel Messi - v7

It's a tragedy. We shouldn't remember him like this. He should have left years ago

    Lionel Messi - v7

Leo should have left a couple of years ago. I don't want have to remember him like this in this dreadful team.

    Lionel Messi - v7

I never see him scoring now unless it's a crap team at home. He's too easily stopped because there's nobody else to worry about and he has to do it all himself to score.

Can't cut it at this level anymore, not with this team. Useless away from home.

    Lionel Messi - v7

After the penalty miss Chelsea shut Barca out, never looked like scoring. Bums like Cuenca and Tello on the pitch didn't help. Pep's poor transfer record (post-2008) came home to roost in that tie and domestically that season.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Luck but Real always had loads of quality all over the pitch which this Barca don't. Chelsea did just defend really well (the Barca tie and the final) as well as getting crazy luck. Barca are just dependent on Messi and if he doesn't show up as GOAT away from home in CL then Barca get thrashed...

    Lionel Messi - v7

Real still had Ramos and Pepe who were big game players and Marcelo who would get them on the front foot and Casemiro to cover. Modric and Kroos would dominate the midfield and Ronaldo/Benzema/Bale would get the goals. With this Barca it's all Messi. The last CL winning team had Neymar and...

    Cr150

11 games, half the goals were Penaldo's. Big fucking deal. Quagriella at 36 did the same last season. Luca Toni and Di Natale were scoring a bag full in their late 30s in the last few years. It's a weak league overall. Yes, he'll be banging them in somewhere at 40 and will shatter most...

    Luis Suárez

Suarez was good because he was playing alongside Messi and Neymar. Eto'o would have got 60 a season.

    Lionel Messi - v7

He has to score great goals now to score which is why his numbers drop. Eubar at home is the kind of game where he still looks like scoring. Away from home he's easily shut down. Hopefully he can produce next 2 games. Setien has made Barca watchable again after the dreadful Valverde

    Lionel Messi - v7

I think he'd have moved on by now but Barca is his home and he'd hate to leave. When he leaves it'll be for Argentina but I don't think that'll be his choice to leave.

    Martin Braithwaite

If Messi can't click with Coutinho, Ibra, Griez, Dembele, Dybala, Aguero and countless other top attacking players then what chance has this journeyman got?
