Have to remember too that game state can fluctuate - a game can be all about one team dominating and the other team denying space. Then based on a goal, or a sub, it can become a basketball game with space opening up. Football and game state is not static, but fluid and dynamic. So guys like...- Maradona37

That's why it's curious that Barca have taken him on loan - the tactical quirks which suit his game are geared towards playing as the underdog and on the counter (as Man United always do). He can still contribute over the season, but I think a fair appraisal acknowledges he has a lot of flaws in his game - some of which can be coached out (and haven't been) and others which are inherent to him. Of course the other inescapable point is that you cannot seperate defence and attack. The high line and high risk is what leads to high reward and so many goals being able to be scored. It's very entertaining and I enjoy watching it - the problem is that to win big trophies (consistently, not in one season) you need to be boring and pragmatic from time to time too, as there's so many games in a season and it's impossible to play champagne football even 80 percent of the time...- Maradona37

Because it's something you wanna have in your locker but only need occasionally. Flicks Barca are regularly going 1 or 2 goals down and having to claw it back Adds more physical and mental fatigue too as you can't casually play games out. It's not sustainable.
