    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

I think they targeted the first game of January. I don't know the exact date but if I'm not mistaken, it's the game against Elche.

Who will win Ballon d'Or 2013?

Because of the injuries and the reopening of the voting I woul say Ronaldo has the edge, although he is lucky Messi was injured so much this year. Cause without those injuries would have won it easily again.

    Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

That is speculation but the fact that FIFA reopened the voting just the day after Ronaldo's hattrick for the first time ever in the history of the Ballon d'Or is too much coincidence I guess.

Men’s shortlists for FIFA Ballon d’Or 2013 revealed

The whining of Ronaldo has come back and hit him in the face. The Ballon D'Or in previous years wasn't what it should be but at least the voting was respectable and consequent. Now it has become ridiculous, altering the rules for the first time ever clearly in favour of Ronaldo. There will...

Men’s shortlists for FIFA Ballon d’Or 2013 revealed

Goikoetxea (coach Equatorial Guinea): "My vote was 5 points to Cristiano Ronaldo, 3 to Leo Messi and 1 to Andrés Iniesta." [the network] Goikoetxea: "Cristiano has been better this season, but Messi stays the overall best. Leo has just been unlucky with injuries."

    Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

Ronaldo is the best dumb footballer I have ever seen. Every part of his body and football is good except his brain, I have yet to see him do something genius which is why he never will be regarded highly in my books. I actually find him quite boring to watch, he does spectacular things but he...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

This. I feel him being incredible hyped all the time, he scored from 3 one-on-one's with the goalkeeper, he didn't go past a single Swedish player the whole game and should have probably scored 5 but still they are acting like he decided that game all on its own. He just waits for a long ball...

    Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

The cheating lies in the fact that this is the first time ever they've done that. Why now, exactly the day after Ronaldo's hattrick ? Why not last year after the Betis game. This benefits only one player and that is Ronaldo. Fifa is trying to show that they didn't favour anyone by favouring...

    Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

Well actually, FIFA never cheated until now that is.

    Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

What kind of crap is that ? Then they should have extended the voting last year when Messi broke Muller's record. It now seems that the allegations that Messi was favoured has resulted in the fact that CR7 is actually favoured by FIFA.

    He's done it again :worthy:

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

Since 2013 has ended for him : Notice Cesc grabbing his head at the last goal against Athletic. How good are you if you can mindblow your teammates that are effectively the best on the planet ? Only Leo can and he did it before with his Maradona goal against Getafe when Eto'o couldn't...

    Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

Ribery : treble with Bayern, don't know his stats. Ronaldo : UCL topscorer, won nothing Messi : Pichichi, La Liga and Spanish Supercup. Same goals + assists per 90 minutes as Ronaldo while being injured and note that this was Ronaldo's best year statistical wise. I'd say it's between Messi and...

    Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

The voting ends this week so what happens until January will not be accounted for in the votes.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

Yeah, it's something I've heard before too so you're probably right. I'm just trying to be positive, I just can't imagine an injury-prone Messi for the rest of his career...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

Thanks for clearing that up Flavia, also very interesting piece. So if Leo was inury free for almost 4 years after those 2 tears, he can do it again although it seemingly requires a lot of effort according to the article Flavia provided. But I take every positive I can get...
