    I loved that interview in the Guardian with him. Some of his background story reminds me of my own, with the refugee camps and blending in with the ethnic outsiders. He actually seems quite humble once you get to know him.

    Very sad to see him this way. He looks pretty rough too, like he's about 70 years old. Him and Shearer are the first English footballers I remember when I watched the Euro in 1996. Gazza had skill, movement, creativity. It's very disheartening to see his demons get the better of him.

    Well, I was in elementary school as well at the time. Lived about 30 mins from Dortmund and BVB was pretty popular with some of my classmates. Though we did have some Bayern fans as well. They were a minority though. I was on the train of success though before BVB had won the CL against Juventus. ;)
