    La Liga 2022/23

One of the big flaws in the Barcelona squad(when healthy) is that they have 2 clear positions you can point to and say that it is going to cost them big games. DM and RB. Those 2 positions are anchors weighing down Barca. There are other flaws(winger productivity and midfield creativity), but I...

The ESL would've turned into a full league within a year or 2. In the format they announced, there were going to be 18 matches guaranteed per team, which is already half a league season. The ESL might've run concurrently with domestic league seasons for a couple of years while it founds its...

    Xavi Hernández

If the English clubs are in the Super League, they won't be in the PL. If all the Super League clubs can spend roughly equal amounts of money, Barca has the bigger pull with club history, great city and weather, and preference from S. American talent.

    Serie A

Guess it depends on the broadcast you watch. The Espn broadcast in English sometimes brings in commentators whose primary language is Spanish, but they speak English well. Bit of an accent but perfectly fine on commentary. Plus they are mostly in the analyst role rather than color commentary.

Token Spaniards. That's a new one.

This guy has to realize he is finished. I don't see him having a surge in the 2nd half of the season like he's had the past few years. I think his only motivation is the World Cup. Once Portugal gets knocked out, he will have nothing left to play for. Will be finished mentally.

    Xavi Hernández

A super league is needed for Barcelona's long term future. The EPL has been increasing its financial gap over the other leagues this past decade. Enormous media rights deals and sponsorships. Many fans coped with this by saying Premier League teams are just going to waste all that money by...

    MLS

The bulk of transfers are made in January, but there is a another transfer window in the summer which is when some MLS teams pick up some European players. Most of the squad changes will happen in January and the squad will be pretty much set once the season starts in February.

New season will start in February 2023. Schedule has not been released, AFAIK. 3 months is the usual time between seasons. Even most European leagues end mid-May and start the new season mid-August which is 3 month span.

    Ansu Fati (loaned to Monaco)

Maybe he just doesn't have the same sizzle on his shots with the knee injuries.

    Gerard Piqué

Very sweet to see him get the ovation from the fans at the Camp Nou plus the adoration of his teammates at the substitution and end of game.

    3 - Alejandro Balde

Should show some more attacking initiative or he will go down as another Semedo type (minus the A.Davies/8-2 Bayern moments).

    Jordi Alba

Good game today. He is still good enough as a rotation option when he knows he isn't the undisputed starter.
  14. S

    Ansu Fati (loaned to Monaco)

He is just off the rhythm with his play. Maybe he becomes a top player, maybe not.
  15. S

    Sergio Busquets

He is suited for these type of league games. Very nice passing.
  16. S

    Ousmane Dembélé

He spent like his first 4 years pretty much injured. He is still like a Bambi, growing and learning.

    1 - Marc-Andre ter Ansplant

He is so so good. Amazing confidence, ball-handling ability, reaction time, throwing strength, hairline, looks. Top notch.

    Gerard Piqué

I don't think Pique was late in leaving the team because the team gave no indication until this season that they were ready to move on from him. Until this season, Pique has been the best or 2nd best CB on the team. Perhaps if Barca had brought in better CBs before, there wouldn't be all this...

    Sergio Busquets

Been rumors about this being his last season for Barca. Now that Pique is retired, he might also think about moving on. However, one difference is that Pique has largely been replaced and only seen playing time because of injuries. Meanwhile, Busquets has not been replaced and still is the starter.

    Gerard Piqué

Great player and career for Barca. Saw that the club finally replaced him this season, and now did the honorable thing of retiring. Went out at the right time.
