    Real Madrid (old thread)

Diarra is playing quite horribly today.

    Real Madrid (old thread)

Honestly don't think they will win that comfortably, if at all.

    Real Madrid (old thread)

Very good start from Mallorca; using a 442. They are putting two banks of four deep behind the ball, with the front two closing the first pass. Real Madrid struggle enough to get past the front two from Mallorca; and when they do, they still struggle to get it behind the midfielders. They have...

    Yohan Cabaye

Cabaye is a magnificent footballer - truly intelligent, composed and relaxed on the ball - cobbled with excellent technique. All the respect in the world for Newcastle - but he could go somewhere bigger.

    Sergio Busquets

He was a DM, but was pushed CB as a result of Boatengs vertical movement and pressure - which led Busquets to move back to keep a spare man in the build up. Boateng often moved to the right though, which meant Busquets left him to Abidal, but still moved back into defence.

    Denmark

I guess this is now our preferred line-up, if everyone is ready (very unlikely): Thomas Sørensen (Stoke) Lars Jacobsen (FCK)-Simon Kjær (Roma)-Daniel Agger (Liverpool)-Nicolai Boilesen (Ajax) William Kvist (Stuttgart) - Niki Zimling (Brugge) Dennis Rommedahl (Brøndby) - Christian Eriksen (Ajax)...

    Denmark

Fantastic game. Silberbauer, Bjelland, Kvist, Eriksen, Rommedahl, Krohn-Dehli were all fantastic yesterday. I am much more optimistic for Euro 12, than i was for WC 2010. It seems much more fluid, cohesive and fresh now. The old generation is more or less gone, and players such as William...

    Sergio Busquets

A player whose diving i do not like, but a player whose footballing qualities i admire greatly. Such an intelligent footballer, calm, composed and oozing of confidence on the ball. Excells in the passing game, always extremely well positioned, rests on the ball like few can do it, great...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

Wait? So the criticism of Messi is a speculative opinion of his inability to play well in hypothetical matchups against a certain kind of team in a certain kind of weather?

2011 CL Final: FC Barcelona - Manchester United FC 3-1 - Champions!

For me, Rooney is a terrific footballer. As Ryan Giggs put it: "Our genius". He does so much more than given credit for. He runs past defenders with fair ease due to his power and pace. His passing has improved and is tremendous at times. He works hard and is terrific defensively aswell. His...

    14 - Javier Mascherano

I think we have found another top-class centerback. Typical Guardiola invention. Masch, Puyi, Pique, Fontas, Bartra.. I think we are covered here next year.

Just... i mean.. it's like... he is.... surely he isn't human.

    Xavi Hernández

    He can't stop being brilliant.

2011 CL Final: FC Barcelona - Manchester United FC 3-1 - Champions!

He has obviously done this for pace vs Hernandez.. But, what the fuck Pep? Puyol is so important.

2011 CL Final: FC Barcelona - Manchester United FC 3-1 - Champions!

Xavi normally covers more ground than Alves, but in a less exhausting an noticeable way. Xavi is more of a marathon runner while Alves sprints, stops, sprints, stops. I believe Xavi runs a little more, though Alves way of running is more intense and exhausting. +1

2011 CL Final: FC Barcelona - Manchester United FC 3-1 - Champions!

While i agree with the rest of your post, this is not quite true. He is typically the player in our squad who runs the most.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

I think we can all agree that Ronaldinho was magical at his best. I do believe Messi is better though. He is more efficient, works harder and plays well at a more consistent rate. In terms of excitement however, Ronaldinho beats Messi.

    Mesut Ozil

Terrific player. Truly wouldn't mind him being at Barcelona. Would fit into our tiki-taka as well.
