    10 - Lionel Messi - v5

Jumping the gun a bit there? Your board would have been well aware most other top European clubs were not willing to shell out 200m on one player, the only clubs with the finances to do so would have been MU/RM, PSG took everybody by surprise.

What is so hard to believe about that?

    10 - Lionel Messi - v5

If that had any significance the contract would have already been signed, i.e. if Messi was happy with everything, why does he appear to be running down the contract?

Yeah, because Messi has been playing for free all this time. Loyal players are extremely rare, and it normally involves a home city. Messi is a great player, but if he was truly loyal his contract would already have been signed.

Why are Liverpool fans always so bitter xD

    10 - Lionel Messi - v5

Considering the fees seen this summer. Why is Messi going to sign a new contract? It would be stupid of him to sign one now, imagine how much he could demand as a signing fee. If Messi runs down his contract, he could easily get 3 years of his current contract value just as a signing fee...

Doubt Liverpool would be stupid enough to try that, they already probably have their eye on replacements.

    7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

That's true I guess, but looking at it that way how much do you think Pogba would cost You? Liverpool need the money much more than United do. Minus the hype, Coutinho was never regarded as THE best midfielder in the world, which is what a 100m price tag would suggest. Liverpool don't want to...

    7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

He is a very good player, but he isn't worth 100m let alone 160. PSG have distorted this transfer window with their crazy prices. You only aggressively went after coutinho after you lost Neymar, so how has he got so much better mid season? You lost a vital player, and had 200m+ in your pocket...

At the end of the day, unless PSG are paying 90% of their squad peanuts, they can't cover that transfer, Neymar's wages amount to 25% of their income.

I read that before, but I am pretty sure the deal has to be independently legitimate for UEFA to accept it, Neymar is not worth 300m in sponsorship money. This is from UEFA: " overall objectives of these regulations, in particular to defeat any attempt to circumvent these objectives"...

In all fairness, regarding the money, the Board I am sure didn't believe PSG were going to stump up the cash for Neymar's buyout clause, they had no control over everyone knowing they had 300m+ in the bank this window. I just hope FFP actually works here, there is no way PSG can honestly spend...

This. In all honesty, world football definitely seems to be a bit devoid of new talent. I am not convinced on the young french guys yet, Martial was raved about 3 years ago and although decent, he isn't what he was hyped at. I guess time will tell but I definitely don't think we can say there...

    7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

That's true I guess, I think it might just be best to ride out this transfer window and see what next year is like. I don't think you could ever consider this transfer window a huge success after losing Neymar, and chucking stupid money at players not 1/2 as good as him isn't the answer.

Coutinho for £160 Million is a panic buy.

    7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

They need to sit on it and ride out the season. Hope to do well in the champ league, it's still winnable for you with Messi, give Dembele a year to grow and then strengthen next season. 160M for Coutinho is a mistake.

    7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

Well in all honesty, that Coutinho deal has either been secretly done days ago or dead for weeks and your board hasn't been honest.

The issue is you almost always seem to get the decisions in the big games. Example, PSG game earlier in the year. Example 2. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/european/referee-tom-henning-ovrebo-admits-mistakes-in-chelseas-champions-league-semi-final-with-barcelona-7657154.html...

No, it's just so many of your champ league knockout games are marred in refereeing controversy. Yeah Giggs defo did look offside.

We do sometimes, my first post said the big Spanish 2 both have favored from it. It is probably partly an instinctive bias that referees find hard to shake, I am sure top premier league clubs benefit from it too in certain decisions. You also had the fortune/misfortune of having a few very key...
