That's because he was just playing football back then, not the Barca system. As he learned the system more, he became more timid and unsure of himself. The last few months of the season, when he was also finally healthy, you saw him playing comfortably and making progress.

Man, Thiago was my guy but I DO truly appreciate these guys like Montoya and Tello who want to succeed and do so at Barca. Maybe something to do with the fact they are truly Spanish. Anyway, give this guy the #7, and at the very least #17.
