I think we've established by now that Messi doesn't rest, hahaha. He's a machine!

The Valencia one was a big miss, because they needed to win to stay in the title race, essentially. Therefore, there was pressure. A win at the start of the season might also be worth 3 points, but there isn't the same pressure and you have 37 games to make up for it.

You can tell Gary Lineker is getting physically frustrated with the stupidity he is arguing against. I've honestly never seen him like this. As long as Phil Neville and Robbie Savage are employed, punditry in English football will always be a joke.

Love it! So much for his provoking

One of the reasons I support Barca is because they are the antithesis of all that I hate about English football. I thought discouraging flair and expression was an English thing; clearly I was wrong.

BBZ, you've been saying that Neymar is a provocateur but most of this post is about retaliation. They're completely different things.

Neymar stands up to the thuggish defenders that try to intimidate him.

    Daniel Alves

Nothing against Milner, think he's a decent, hard-working player. But if that's the money he's on then players of Alves' ilk should be on more.

You criticised him for exaggerating contact to win free kicks, and then you said that you don't blame him. You then said he has nobody but himself to blame. Hmmmm. So do you blame him or don't you blame him?

A hothead? The opposition players were shouting in his face while he was on the floor and he didn't react.

James Milner just turned down a 4 year contract worth £34m. James. Milner. Give Alves whatever he wants, I don't care, we just can't afford to lose him.

    11 - Neymar Jr. - v4

Neymar has lumps kicked out of him every game, and rather than retaliating physically or verbally, he retaliates with the ball. I love it. I don't care what anyone says, opposition players and fans (and, unbelievably, some of our fans!) hate Neymar because they are jealous. He's young, playing...

    Rafinha Alcantara

I get where you're coming from, but it's important to note that when Xavi and Iniesta broke into the first team, Barcelona weren't the force that we are today.

I assume he'll grow up playing Football, and even if he isn't incredibly talented, just think of all the things that Papi can teach him. That video was beautiful.

2012-13 was amazing for him when you consider he was injured for large parts, the team was struggling and with what was going on with Tito. Should've definitely won the 2013 Ballon d'or.

    Daniel Alves

Amidst all this talk of ethics and fairness, I think people are forgetting the main thing; there is no one who can replace him. So the team will suffer. After a *fingers crossed* successful season, you don't make your team weaker.

    Daniel Alves

No, because I happen to like the player that I'm alluding to. I just don't think it's fair how people can use an argument against Alves that completely contradicts their support for somebody else.

    Daniel Alves

I can think of players that haven't played well in years that are defended to the hilt on this forum. Players that, unlike Alves, have never returned to their best form.
