Oh, no, blasphemy. Never compare anything to the holy. :worthy: What if the holy would one day come up short - we cant risk that. Anyone not doing the comparison either does not like to compare performances between players at all, or is acting extremely immature. I'd respect the former. No...

We all know what Messi is doing to fotball these years, but this is what I mean by that atleast someone is trying to push him further. This is the league only, away games. And as noted above, they share the top for CL points.

You do realize Ibra and Messi are tied leaders in CL regarding goals+assists this year? Jesus..

No, this is not true, and not "everyone" would fall for something like this. You are a very select group. And newspapers dont "fall" for stuff. Actually, generally newspapers dont even "learn" stuff, thats not what they set out to do; it is not about information. They report what they believe...

Given some extremely complicated equation, maybe it could be described quantitatively. For example: I believe Barcelona was a superior team to Chelsea last year. What got me to that conclusion? Well I dont know.. a lot? What I am proposing is that making a qualitative judgement like that is...

He is said to be pretty smart actually. But maybe not that socialy clever/normal; his grew up in a different environment from most of us. Says a lot of weird things (though often insanely funny).

Its not really my ideological point of view, it is that I believe the sample is tiny. If you looked at the season as a whole I would agree, but CL and EL are just a couple of games per season. Again though, I agree with using it as a tool, it is much better than a lottery. But I dont agree...

The biggest problem with the coefficient is not teams not giving a sh-t about EL, its that its short sighted, acts to quickly on random luck. Much like the English. :D As someone said though, its better than nothing. I think its funny that this generation of Barcelona, even though they have...

Again, more noise than anything. Malaga is probably a much, much worse team than PSG. Their performance right now is still impressive, but I see no reason yet to call them a top team. (of course everyone have their opinion, but I think Malaga woudnt have much of a chance in ligue 1)

Just dont misstake noise for signal. Short term results (one or a few CL) is more noise than information. Actually a valid lesson for most things in life, and one that almost everyone got the wrong idea about 2012. So transfer and extrapolate and youre a few steps ahead. :)

My (by birth) home team Gefle IF would dominate the table. Seriously though, the difference is so small (and varying) between the big leagues that if we trash any one of them it just means that the best league "almost" sucks. And again I dont think that makes sense. I definitely agree ligue1...

Yeah, but its hard to tell so early. Chelsea, City, even Real have shown how hard it is to just throw in expensive signings and perform right away. From what I´ve heard, Zlatan and Messi are tied leaders for goals+assist after the CL group stages this season. In Who Scored ratings for the...

Yes, he is known for losing league titles. Brilliant. :p

Evian TG, never heard of them? They are just below Barcelona/Real Madrid in quality. Some would say they are better. Ibra doesnt want to score anymore. Right now he looks as off as in the Porto game. Pastore has been pretty good. Not "40m euro"-good, but its the first time I see him not suck.

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Some real fodder-team hoping for 0-0 at best, "Evian". This year it makes atleast some sense to compare stats between Messi/Ronaldo/Ibra. They all play in pretty superior teams and meet a lot of teams like this.

He was way better than he was treated, not only in Spain but maybe even more so in the rest of the world. But that probably goes to every player after him as well.

Yawn. Hindsight. Just look through the history of this forum alone, its all in there as well, before the transfer.

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic

One goal and one assist after 30 minutes. I wonder what statistics he will end up with in that league.

The biggest reason the expectations of Ibra was so ridicolous* was because Eto was widely concidered this "normal" striker, that unfortunately missed way, way, way too many sitters. Xavi+Iniesta was so dominant, the striker just have to walk the ball into the net. Sometimes, Eto succeeded with...
