Man of the Match 13/14 edition

Iniesta - Brilliant all over the pitch. Forcing turnovers in their third, defending in and around the box, bossing the midfield with his flawless distribution, dribbling, and linkup play. Easy motm for me. Messi - 3 nice goals, but also 3 easy chances missed at 3-2 when we needed to put it out...

    Mesut Ozil

Can't help but laugh at that sentiment. Don't watch La Liga much do you? Did you see them playing with 6 defenders hoofing it up the pitch straight back to Tottenham in their latest match? Not even the top 3 in England in that regard.

    Barça's Transfers and Rumors

I think Alba is currently better on both ends, notwithstanding his poor start to the season. Defensively he is at least putting in 100% effort which Alves plainly does not do every match. Also, our left side is much more sound defensively, most of our dangerous turnovers come from our right...

    Barça's Transfers and Rumors

Pique-Masch is not even our problem, what we need is at least one midfielder who won't be a total pussy in physical battles and one fullback who's a real defender. If Puyol somehow manages to return and remain fit and healthy for the season, he should play for one of Dani or Alba, not Masch.

    Best flank in world football

Flanks have more than two players. Our left at the moment for me is the best.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

I'm inclined to agree, and I can't imagine why it's so hard to believe. A lot of young adults who are relatively new to a leadership role tend to use displays of anger poorly and too often as a way of establishing authority, especially when it's a tough time transitioning from a non-leadership...

    Gerard Deulofeu

Awesome goal by the youngster to equalize, definitely looks like their biggest threat in attack to this point.

    Franck Ribéry

Beat me to it. Ribery also doesn't have 2nd on lockdown, no clear edge over Robben or Schweini for me, unless we're just judging based on the past handful of matches as Schweinsteiger hasn't been too hot this season so far.

What a clown. Not even the best player at Bayern.

    Thiago Translantara

Well no, crosses are nowhere near as successful for us as they are for Bayern obviously. We do have a squad which is better suited for piling on pressure and wearing down the opposition in that lengthy opening spell though, as well as plenty of tools to get the job done as far as scoring goals...

    Thiago Translantara

"Barca 2.0" works better to keep a fresh team with a very defensive minded approach under constant pressure throughout the opening 45-60 minutes so as to exhaust their energy and concentration, at which point the switch to more crosses in from the wings (as well as the runs of Ribery & Robben)...

The sub happened to coincide with the point at which Nurnberg players started to lose energy and focus, and Bayern upped the tempo, hence the flurry of chances in the end.

    Xavi Hernández

There was no problem this match, tired legs didn't enter into it. People have to realize that players are not supposed to sprint all over the pitch like maniacs every single match. If it's the champions league final and he's out there walking around, obviously that's a problem. An away match in...

    Alexis Sanchez

My only complaint about his performance is that he tried to play in a manner that should have been reserved for the last 30 minutes or so, early on more pragmatic play knocking the ball around was definitely called for in this match. He looked confident and good on the ball, ready and able to...

    Andrés Iniesta

They did not get to Iniesta in the slightest, watch again and you'll have to agree. His turnovers consisted of passing lofted balls into areas very high up the pitch and when those plays didn't come off, Atletico still had a mountain to climb before getting in Barca's half. On top of that he...
