it has not been reported by anyone that united paid tax on it, maybe the amount given to herrera to pay the clause was ruled not to be income, so tax didn't have to be paid on it, your just making up that 43 million euros figure as it has not been reported anywhere, all we know is united paid...

any midfielder, who would of thought it before sir alex left, we probably would of gone another 7 years without signing one had sir alex continued :p

well people here are saying that income tax had to be paid on it, although that has not been reported by any of the papers, so i don't know to be honest, i agree with you that i don't understand why it would be considered as income for herrera as he hasn't kept a penny of it for himself...

in other news many of the papers over here are saying on twitter that luke shaw is having his medical at united, stories to follow on the websites, will be confirmed tomorrow apparently, the fee is said to be £27 million with add ons. it is a lot of money, he'll be our left back for the next 12...

i thought the tax on it would be much higher, i read elsewhere that with taxes included it would cost over £50 million, which is why i found it inconceivable that united would pay that amount, obviously that information was wrong. 7.2 million euro is not too bad, we have still over payed for him...

your mental if you think we are paying over £50 million for herrera, united are owned by the glazers not sugar daddies who don't care about money, he is signing for £29 million, that is the fee that has been reported everywhere. how could united even keep it secret if they had to pay all that...

bilbao have obviously agreed to a friendly transfer for the buyout value, it might seem unlikely given bilbao's history but it is the only explanation, united are obviously not going to be paying that massive tax bill, as you say it would take the cost above £50 million...

yeah its a sideways step moving to the biggest club in the country, massive pay rise and working with one of the best managers in the world, he should stay at southampton who are in the process of selling all there best players and about to hire some mid table manager

he belongs to leverkusen doesn't he? i remember he played left back against united earlier in the season and got torn a new one by antonio valencia in the 0-5 win, some advice for rodgers, don't play him at left back :p

if southampton were to screw bournemouth out of the money they were entitled to in such an obvious way then it would be very well publicised, other clubs would take note of it and may think twice about doing business with southampton in the future, so it is really not a good idea...
