    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

This would be utterly stupid, the award should be for the best player of the year and nothing else. Another thing is the balon d'or should be given once after the season and not once a year. would make more sense to evaluate the whole season and not 2 half seasons, I never quite understood that.

    Jose Mourinho

You have to be thankful that his influence is limited to football, imagine him in a position of power where he could cause real damage. I think he would be an excellent dictator

    Arjen Robben

If they'll do that, then why on earth did they give him a new contract to sign, very bad decision in my opinion

    Arjen Robben

I agree, but they did renew his contract, this could make it difficult to sell him

    Yaya Toure

I always wondered why he didn't stay and be a permanent cb, similar to mascherano is doing now. He would have been excellent. Probably did not want to play in defense though.

    Didier Drogba

It's not so much that he would score goals, but he would occupy two central defenders at once, opening up space for other players. Drogba never was a great goal scorer but still one of the best strikers in the last decade

    Didier Drogba

Im all for it, he would be a great tactical option to have and he will be content to sit on the bench given his age, as opposed to someone like llorente who is wasted as a mere option to have. Imagine a game like agaist chelsea, we could throw in drogba instead of keita, would make a big...

    Pep Guardiola

i really hope he stays but its looking less and less likely. If he actually does leave who would replace him? This could be a serious problem , i just dont see any viable candidates except maybe Bielsa. Yes he is "loco" but is also a tactical genius and the only somewhat fitting replacement. I...

    Manuel Neuer

Best goalkeeper in the world for me. he can do everything, strong on the line, great at rushing out, great areal presence, can play football with both feet and deliver accurate kicks, and can do this:

    David Alaba

another austrian at barca, would be great, but i think it wont happen at least in the near future

    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

i think messi was told by pep to press less and conserve his energy, if there is one player who you can afford this luxury for, its him. as for the other things like shouting at teammates etc, I actually like it, shows he has matured and is becoming more of a leader.

    Jose Mourinho

I think he is loosing it little by little, soon the mourinho myth will be gone. A great man manager, but a tactically very conservative and ordinary manager

The Coaches Corner III: Teams Without Destinations

the amazing thing is ,the current bayern side are still benefiting from his concept , if it wasn't for van gaal. they would never play like they do today. I think sooner or later even the bayern bosses will have to realize that in todays football landscape it's getting more an more difficult...

The Coaches Corner III: Teams Without Destinations

Very informative post, but Bayern started a concept with van gaal and they are still carrying the his imprint somewhat, which will probably be gone next season when heynckes is fired. I think Van Gaal is a genius, a shame that he apparently is not able to get along with people for an extended...

    Athletic Club

I would think their youth facilities and scouting are already top notch, how else would they have been able to be competitive for so long with a limited talent pool from an area of approx 3 mio people

    Xavi Hernández

Two holders and one forward. Definitely a one man midfield today

    Pepe

I saw that too, definitely deliberate, it has become a kind of signature move from him "Pepe Stamp", a foul and afterwards an "accidental" stamp, absolute animal!
