    Diego Maradona

Yeah me too, I played on the streets a lot - now kids have access to 4G pitches etc. I play on them now too but obviously not as a boy (I was born in 1982, think you said you are 1971). It was a wonderful time back then, when the streets were safer, less opportunity to play video games, far less...

    Pedro Rodriguez

Criminal that he didn't get the pass there.

    Diego Maradona

Yes true. I guess I am working on a hypothetical idea that they were exactly the same in talent, but born in the 90s or 2000s. There's so many variables (not just genetics) though that make it impossible to answer - maybe if they had been born in today's era they wouldn't have played in the...

    Diego Maradona

Yes all that is true. Like I say, it's always the fitness and organisation aspect that would need to be brought up to speed, and adapting to modern tactics etc. After that, the players' natural talent does the rest. To reiterate, many players born in the 30s, 40s and 50s were more talented than...

    Vinícius Júnior

Is that a wind up? Ballon d'or boots, 5 hour TV shows, parties. All over a politicised individual award. I honestly think most players would rather win the BD than the World Cup. What the fuck is happening to the game?

    Serie A

Good night tonight. Though Roma was the least fancied result here and still as high as 65 percent, so a more predictable evening in general. I thought Lazio would win but definitely didn't see this hammering coming. In my main mini-league for Serie A there are about 186 players. The top scorer...

    New goalkeeper?

Born in 88. He just looks like it was 1888, not 1988.

    Diego Maradona

Yes that is the obvious caveat - these players would have access to today's training methods and nutrition or sports science to enable them to be sufficiently fit for the era. After that, their natural talent does the rest. Like you say, it's impossible to compare across time and space.

    Diego Maradona

I once seen someone say Pele would be lucky to make Norwich's bench. I know they were being serious too. I have heard other mad stuff, like Pele would be Grealish level now at best (I do rate Grealish, but come on...) Never underestimate young people's disrespect and cluelessness of the...

    Serie A

Fior won 1-0 in the end, late goal from Gosens. How did they play? They're doing well this season - always liked them because of Batistuta, and because my old 5/7 a side football team I played for used to wear an all purple kit.

    Ángel Di María

He's always been one of my favourites. One of the best players of his generation, and I was stunned when Real Madrid sold him.

    Ángel Di María

    Magical finish that.

    La Liga 24/25

Yeah these people don't have any qualifications to talk like this, as far as I am aware. It's fine having an opinion but they talk like they're the oracle. Then again, we give our opinions on here and we are in the same boat. Maybe I'm being too harsh. As others have said, fans can be smarter...

    Serie A

I've gone Genoa 1-3 Fiorentina, Como 0-2 Lazio (unsure most of this one) and Roma 2-0 Torino tonight. I am backing the favourites again, Safe and sensible, but sometimes comes back to haunt you as it did last night. We will see how it goes.

    Diego Maradona

Lol he was on the wind up. Hard to tell in written form with no emojis, though.

    Cristiano Ronaldo

It lost its credibility when Ronaldo robbed Ribery, lol. Messi deserved it that year. Or Modric ;) Ronaldo poor in CL Final and World Cup (goes against Messi too).

    Diego Maradona

No need to put Maradona down as a player to elevate Messi. They're the two best, most talented players ever most likely. They both have their pros and cons. Sure most prefer Messi these days but I don't think it is that clear cut.

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

He's got twice as many dribbles as any player (Hazard in second) since he's been playing  And more than double the MOTM, lol. He's a genius.

    Premier League 24/25

That's true in the sense of going on a run. On the other hand, Swansea were the last non top 6 club to win the trophy, back in 2013. Since then Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool and Man United have won it only. In fact since 2016 only City, United and Liverpool have won it.
