Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

Just seen I joined here on 18 December 2019. Exactly three years prior to him winning the World Cup.

    9 - Robert Lewandowski

You too mate, hope you are ok. Great to see you. I won't start a convo in here though as think Andresito tightening up these days on off-topic material. I will message you later.

    9 - Robert Lewandowski

You know my thoughts. R9 better peak, Cristiano Ronaldo better career obviously. I could go in to it a lot deeper but just heading out.

    He's a good egg.

    9 - Robert Lewandowski

https://www.redcafe.net/threads/great-strikers-historical-rankings.469830/ Good thread from Redcafe about strikers over the decades. Generally it is a good discussion. Though there's a few things I take issue with like a couple of C Ronaldo fanboys saying he was miles better in lots of...

    Premier League 24/25

Yes, with them having a tricky looking run - plus a new coach - I have been keeping track of their nine results in December. I have watched all of these games also. Let's bear in mind they were pretty lucky to beat Man City too (a struggling Man City). Plzen game could have gone either way...

    9 - Robert Lewandowski

It's not about loyalty though. That can turn to bias and militant defence. I don't mean you here, as you have criticised him when called for. I also am talking more in general about anything - Lewy, Ronaldo, Taylor Swift, Apple, Playstation, Nintendo, Twitter, Trump, whatever. There comes a...

    9 - Robert Lewandowski

Aye that is what I mean. It is really nothing personal against Lewy - at least on my side. The guy seems a top notch dude and like he'd be a good guy to know. However, I am rating him as a player. He's fairly rated as one of the best strikers or players of his generation. He can be rated as...

    9 - Robert Lewandowski

more in the sense that they seem to really like him and think he is the bees knees more than other deserving players. Not in the sense that he's one of the best players of his generation. Women or fanboys saying he's the greatest striker ever though is definitely overrating him, lol.

    Premier League 24/25

@Horatio @Fati_Future_BallonDor @Temptation Still going well in PL predictor, almost halfway through the season. Into top 100 of 27,000 odd in UK, and in top 200 odd of 73000 in the world. In about the top 0.2-0.3 per cent for both therefore. Like I say plenty of it is luck but some is good...

    Kaká

He really does move like him, almost exactly the same style down to his long legs, his strides and the way he moves his arms. Almost the same face and hair too.

    Cole Palmer

Going back to this. I know you were only joking, but I do have a bias towards shorter players with low centre of gravity as I am smaller myself. But I rate plenty taller players too. However what I wanted to say in response to this is that Palmer is quite unusual as most tall players (> 6 foot)...

    Cole Palmer

The very quick turn on the half turn, jink, and then the little early-taken side foot placed finish (to bamboozle the keeper) into the corner is very Messi-like. This guy is seriously talented.

    Premier League 24/25

I fell asleep and missed Liverpool game. But Everton, Newcastle and Wolves all played well today. Everton are really solid defensively under Dyche, and now have draws in consecutive games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City. Of course the trade off is they have one of the worst attacks in the...

    9 - Robert Lewandowski

I don't hate him. He seems a thoroughly decent guy and I already acknowledged he is one of the best strikers of his generation. Yeah he seems bland but he seems a very good guy who has never done anything bad to anyone really. However A) I just don't particularly enjoy watching him and B) I am...

There's a very young goalkeeper on the Man City bench today called Spike Brits. What a tremendous name @Porque

    9 - Robert Lewandowski

Lol you really can't stand him. I have never been his biggest fan, but I acknowledge he was an excellent striker in his prime, one of the best of his generation. He wasn't just a poacher, but I would never have paid to watch him. He is too old now though. Few if any teams win very big trophies...

Greatest player(s) of all time and other legends

That's very true, all of that. To back up the point about subjectivity, there's an argument (not that I would necessarily agree) that Lahm, Neuer and/or Schweinsteiger are German players more deserving of a placing in that list than Kroos.

Greatest player(s) of all time and other legends

I think Neuer was better than Buffon overall and if there's only gonna be one GK there, it should be Neuer. Of course they should both be there most likely. I also prefer Alisson to Courtois and Casillas but it is splitting hairs as all three were great.
