Again, the problem is/was the alternatives. Umtiti right now is utter garbage, he is like a CB worse version of Arda, he isn't even a serious footballers. Mingueza is terrible player too. Those 2 won't have change the outcome of this combination, they are equally bad at best It is more like...

    Clément Lenglet

EV priority was to protect defense, which hide the limitation of such player. Pique was also still decent and covered him a lot. When those protection removed, he was exposed badly, especially in highline defense. He better move to a team like ATM for example

    Ronald Koeman

It is 50 shades of shit. Thinking they are making difference is wishful thinking IMHO. I would say Pique and Lenglet is 10% better than Umtiti, which is a statement on how bad Umtiti is more than anything else. Mingueza might be closer to their level, but that is it. He also failed us against...

Umtit is worse than both, and Mingueza is a 2nd division level of player. Pjanic has been also bad. We were choosing between bunch horrible options. Is it unfair to say it would be same result with them? Maybe, but in that case it is equally unfair to say it would have been better with them.

I am also with him staying another year, he is good in developing players and give a team a new style and direction, and modern one for that matter. He is doing what fans wanted EV to do, make changes and play attacking style with our old farts still there. Change takes time and sacrifices...

    Sergio Busquets

Busquets best , and most underrated, season here was 14-15 season when Xavi was on the bench, I would argue that Busquets carried and hid Xavi shortcomings in his last few years more than the opposite. Post 2011 Xavi was really overrated tbh He still put a good show in 15-16 too. But Busquets...

    Gerard Piqué

putas is in itself an insult, but it is one that is very regular that friends will say to each other without taking it too seriously
  8. khaled_a_d

    Ernesto Valverde

And a far worse results tbh They are both judged harshly, one was asked to win with an old squad (and he did) while the other is asked to rebuild with awful squad, and he is doing this

    Gerard Piqué

https://streamable.com/cq0w7c [Barcelona 1 - 1 PSG 39'] Piqu?: ?Just one f***ing long possession, f**k!? Griezmann: ?Calm down, stop yelling...your mother?s c**t.? Piqu?: ?No, your mother?s c**t, we are suffering and running like crazy people.?

That is why I didn't quote you, because this argument has been here from several people. The answer is of coarse yes actually. If Pep wasn't willing to learn the language, then he isn't Barca Pep Guardiola, He is poor man version of it. Pep has put Hleb in his doghouse when he refused to learn...

    Ronald Koeman

Rijkaard spoke Spanish well, and iirc he even pushed foreign player to speakthe language, even cited his preference of Valdes over Rustu due to language barriers (during start of his first season) Speaking the language has been always a huge priority for top clubs, yes sometimes an exception...

It was a joke, since Hiratio is big fan of both

    Daniel Alves

Carlos stamina speed and strength were great assets to his game, he was a rich man (like Bill Gates rich) Alba in that sense. A true historic LB tbf. Being better than Maldini is different story

    Ilaix Moriba

Not bad debute, nice assist but bad mistake. That said, we shouldn't rush him

    Erling Haaland

I actually remembered that story about the call when I replied, that was hilarious one. But yeah, there is always a way to get involved

    Dayot Upamecano

They did it plenty of times and shipped players overseas. And here is the catch, Barca,RM,Atletico very rarely to sell to each other, that isn't true with BVB,Schalke etc who tried to compete with Bayern.
  18. khaled_a_d

    Erling Haaland

That will be interesting conversations considering that Messi only speaks Spanish and Haland doesn't talk Spanish (AFAIK)
  19. khaled_a_d

    Dayot Upamecano

That is a lot of difference mate.

Will Messi leave at the end of this season?

I don't think he himself knows at this point. Biggest thing in our favour is his kids, he doesn't want to hurt them and they want to stay OTOH finance is huge issue, not just for paying him but for putting a competitive squad
