Yeah what you and @khaled_a_d said might be true. Rather than me thinking he's adapting to physicality, maybe he's being pragmatic knowing he hasn't got the players to play the possession game that he did in the past. Bit of both.

I know everyone says it about them, but still doubt Arsenal have the winning mentality to actually get over the line and win the league. The nearer it gets the more they'll be reminded 'it's been 22 years'. They might fold. They don't have any players of real experience of winning things either...

I get your point but to be fair he does tend to take right footed inswinging corners, as he's that good at them. Not sure about free kicks.

    Nico Paz

He looks great but video for the goal won't play.

    Premier League 25/26

Yeah as we discussed earlier, he's trying to be effective and fundamental rather than dominant. It has worked at times, but I am not sure it is 'him'. He cannot do that style of football like Mourinho or Simeone can. They will still do fine due to player quality and his ability as a coach, but...

Doku is a bit like that - turns people inside out then messes up. I have shut the game off now to eat my dinner but assume that he beat a player or two then made a bad decision or put a poor cross or shot.

Scotland played that under Harry Potter (Craig Levein) once against the Czech Republic. It was awful. Mad thing is before the game the charlatan had convinced the media and some of the fans it was gonna be revolutionary  Edit: actually, it was 4-6-0...

    2025 World Athletics Championships

Unfortunately I didn't watch the last few days, but USA totally dominated the four relays today I believe. Three golds and one silver. Action came to a close today, I watched most of it before the last few nights, and it was enjoyable. Here's the medal table if anyone is interested. American...

    Sergio Busquets

Legendary footballer at his best. Redefined the DM role with his technique and positioning. I know many people think he was a weak link in all those collapses in the CL, but he was supreme under Pep.

talking about the previous games. I don't rate him in general, but he was good in those.

    Erling Haaland

It will get less praise than the first touch and finish on weaker foot, but the little pass in a crowded area to set Reijnders away was absolutely world-class. Without that the move does not materialise. Really nice to see him improve his all-round game so I don't need to criticise it. Let's...

Still early but he's been really good. Some of his getting to the line and cutting back been top class. needs to sustain it though, and will probably be on the bench when Saka comes back.

    Premier League 25/26

Yeah it looks that way. Good news for them is it doesn't seem like they're giving up as many chances in last two games as Real did against Barca and in the big CL matches. Whether it is sustainable we will see. It's a risky game to play but they do seem to be conceding some control with the...

    Premier League 25/26

Yeah he's not the player he was and hasn't been for at least 18 months. It's a shame as he was brilliant but it happens. He did so much running for the team that longevity is hard for him (he's only 31).
  20. Maradona37

    Premier League 25/26

Yeah think he's trying to adapt. His Barca and Bayern teams and earlier City teams did have physicality, but it was clearly the possession and passing games that were their main trump card (tactically, and personnel too of course). This City team seems full of big and strong and/or fast guys...
