I wouldn't want M. Diarra at Barça for the simple reason that he's African and will be out of action for the best part of a month every other year when the ANC takes place.

    Spot on.

    Real Madrid (old thread)

I'd be delighted to see M. Diarra leave Madrid, he's genuinely the only player in their squad whom I fear when I see the starting lineup because he has the ability to shut down the opposition midfield. No other player they have can do that, Lassie certainly can't which is why he's utterly...

If Carles has a chihuahua then I'm extremely disappointed in him. That is not a man's dog.

Was he in those? Who's ever watched those films? Bend it Like Beckham was actually a fairly decent film, hardly a classic but a watchable medium budget effort which gives a few quality laughs and spins a good yarn. Plus Goal wasn't called "Goal by Cristiano Ronaldo" was it now?

If you're just talking about the unveiling then you're right. If we're talking overall marketability and media coverage, which I am, then Cristina is nowhere near the Beckham level especially in the States and Asia which are the key markets.

    Real Madrid (old thread)

Apparently Perez tried to get Cristina to adopt a "C" before his surname but the ladyboy wasn't having it. Major cockup.

    Real Madrid (old thread)

Becks got far more media coverage than the ladyboy. The number of people turning up (for free) at his unveiling is utterly irrelevant, the fact is that these galacticos (not that Benzine even deserves the tag) just don't have the profitability of the first lot yet they cost many times more.

    Jose Mourinho

My apologies Ducky, I genuinely forgot about Citeh! No doubt you're a viable destination especially if Hughes leads you to a position in the top 5 or 6 this season. From there Mourinho would think he'd have a genuine chance of taking you the rest of the way and I don't see Sparky doing it.

They were big in the 1920's so maybe the 2020's will also be good for them
  14. Cule Angles

    Jose Mourinho

Well it won't be Chelski because Abramovich won't have him back, Liverpool can't afford him, Arsenal have Wenger and the fans there wouldn't want him so the only possible destination for him is United.

They're also on course to give themselves a tough CL 2nd round draw too and have their usual instant elimination thus incurring a further financial setback.

    Real Madrid (old thread)

Sales overall are 25% down compared to the last galactico era, this is according to Bloomberg so the story comes from a reputable source. The idea that they were going to recoup the money spent was always pie in the sky tosh given that none of the newbies has the same marketability as David...
