    1 - Marc-Andre ter Ansplant

VV had great brainfarts, almost every game, that Mats doesn't have. But he turned beast mode when needed. I don't remember actually losing a game because of him. Still mats is also better at distribution and as a sweeper.

    Luis Suárez

But we can't score without him. Ok, away from home we just can't score..

    Luis Suárez

Weirdly I will agree with Tackle. We don't have another no.9. It's a double edge sword. Perhaps though, you are right for games against smaller teams, we would have been better of without him. Messi, Vidal, Griezmann and fati could score too. Against good teams we need that number 9, because...

    Barca Transfers and Rumors

Not convinced yet.. too young to judge. Maybe loan him out to a segunda club first to prove his worth.

    Philippe Coutinho

At least Dembele had some insane physical attributes and was really young. Still a long shot but on the other hand, Coutinho never looked so good (in my opinion) and he wasn't that young either, so we couldn't expect improvement. He was considered the Iniesta replacement, like you can just buy...

    Mavericky Puig

Puig has a much much higher ceiling than Alena or Arthur ever did. I hope he can overcome his physical limitations, so BBZ will eat his words about small stature players (just kidding and making fun here - not remotely serious). I actually hope he makes it because he is on of the rare talents...

    Luis Suárez

His movement was better but his touches are heavy and mostly destroy easy attacks. His touch for the Puig (amazing pass) was world class but he then goes an bottles the easy finish. There is no standard with Suarez, he is too inconsistent nowadays.

    4 - Ronald McDonald Araújo

That tracking back o the break.. immensely fast! We must test him under pressure though, because alaves are really bad on attack.
  9. JohnN

    Ansu Fati (loaned to Monaco)

Only thing not better than other breakout youngsters is pace. He has great movement, linkup paly, finishing, vision, decision making and decent dribling. Too young to predict anything really.

    Sergi Roberto

He has been one the good ones after the break, wherever he played. Every player has had so many highs and lows this season. This clears up the fact that we have deep tactical and physical issues.
  11. JohnN

    Nelson Semedo

His shortcomings aren't physical or technical ones, that's the problem. It's his "football iq" or decision making and that will not improve much at this point - except if a great coach makes it happen. Bob looked better vs alaves but he is slow for a modern fullback - plenty fast for midfield...

    Quique Setien

EV was done after 4-0. The weird thing is he was sacked after the atletico loss, where we were so unlucky while playing better than we had for ages. Someone should have replaced him no matter what in my opinion, but the timing was weird. He should have been sacked at the end of last season...

People have forgotten how inconsistent and borderline dangerous Valdes was. Mats is the only player that is better than his counterpart, compares to our greatest team, so he is ok in my book.

    Premier League 2018/19

My prediction is pool will not be able to maintain their level for more than one year at most. Team cycles usually last about 4 years when all the right players are close to their peak. Complacency will kick in and even klopp can't stop that. Barcas decade of dominance is an anomaly caused by...

    24 - Eric García

Lenglet has shown good improvement imo. He should be given the chance to be a starter, as we can't replace all of our team. A fast RCB with a brain and drive would be ideal.

    Barca-related Open Thread

That's a good take, although we can't win CL even if we pay for it. If la liga was won, at least the mentality would be there. Now the team is disconnected and mentally broken. Setien has lost the dressing room, as they don't believe in him. Messi has lost hope, which is the exact opposite of...

    Miralem Pjanic

If Setien stays (a big if, depends on beating at least Napoli and not getting annihilated by Bayern, both of which are very unlikely), I see Busquets staying and being a starter. Raki and Vidal sould be on the way out though, whoever the next coach is. If we manage to get rid of Raki, Vidal and...

Can't remember the last time we scored a corner.

    Luis Suárez

He would be great as a sub next year. But he cannot start games. For this to happen we must first get somebody who can score.
