CL: Barca - Man City 1-0 (3-1 agg.)

Exactly, completely agree. He was in my eyes also the MOTM by some distance, followed by Suarez and Pique. Iniesta and Rakitic also had immense games.

    Daniel Alves

Poor Unzue took the brunt of the splash there. Didn't flinch though, like a boss. :unzue:

    1 - Marc-Andre ter Ansplant

His epic ball distribution is something to behold though. Whenever he fires a hard ball with minimal airtime at the feet of someone in midfield, it gives give me a warm, cozy feeling inside. :pep:

    9 - Luis Suárez - v1

I spot Ter Stegen in the background in that picture. This is of no relevance to anything whatsoever. Great game by Suarez! Love how great his movement is, the second goal was a perfect example of a poachers goal and a true testament to his awesome movement. Hopefully scoring these sort of...

I know I know buddy, just wanted to comment on your comment.

    Luis Enrique

I think the reason why this is a problem for Barca (seemingly losing focus and being complacent after they score a few goals) is that compared to most other teams, Barca has three "states of play" they need to manage and master when they play, as opposed to two. Most other teams mainly have two...

    Luis Enrique

Great first half, shows that he's really on to something. BUT, the way the team deflated mentally in the second half is on him too. I don't know what he said in the break, but he should have told them to go out there and keep doing exactly what they were doing, and be intense and not slip up...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v3

That's not happening, we're not playing against City at home and not scoring. Especially considering that they HAVE to come out and attack. We showed how easily we can dominate them in the first half, we just need to KEEP THE FOCUS. If we do that at home, well then I am confident we'll destroy...

    Gerard Piqué

Not just you, he would make a perfect captain right now. He was such a leader in defense today, and I loved how he took matters into his own hands and raided forward towards the end of the game. He basically showed everyone what was missing in that half - initiative. Talk about a boss. Keep it...

    Gerard Piqué

Almost MOTM, behind Messi and Suarez. Best CB in the world right now in my opinion. His focus and determination has gotten the best out of him again, he's looking so sharp.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v3

Well said. He probably did the header because he went all out panic when Hart saved his shot. Taking penalties has clearly gotten to him in some way, he's not sure when he does them, so when he saw the save he made a hasty and bad decision to dive-head it in, something he would never have done...

    9 - Luis Suárez - v1

Yeah this is great for his confidence, these two goals are worth their weight in gold. He did great, and is clearly getting in better and better form.

    Sergio Busquets

He made my heart jump in my mouth when he started dancing in front of our own box and refused to pass the ball. That's clearly ego-driven from him and he needs to stop doing it NOW. That could easily have cost us a goal tonight. Other than some of that, he had a good game overall, and in the...

That header was like a clearance  He had so much time to just TAP IT IN. AAAARGGHGHH!

    Ivan Rakitić

Yeah that annoyed me. The subs should have been Pedro on for Neymar, Alves off for Adriano and Mathieu on for Mascherano. Losing Rakitic made our offensive impact a lot smaller, he helped Messi a lot on the right side.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v3

Yeah, but that's very unlikely. They would need a 2-0 or 3-1, and we are extremely likely to score some goals at home. The thing is, we showed in the first half that when we're focused, we can dominate them completely. If we just show up like this at home, we will go through to the quarters like...

    Ivan Rakitić

He was brilliant, so many awesome and intelligent moments with the ball tonight. For a 20m signing he's proving to be a complete and utter bargain. He's world class, I love how he's fitting into the team.

CL: Barca - Man City 1-0 (3-1 agg.)

The way we lost focus and became complacent in the second half needs to stop happening. It's insane. What did Lucho say in the break? It's completely embarrasing to go from being that dominant to losing it completely like that, it makes no sense.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v3

Very sad he missed the PK and the rebound like he did. BUT, he can't really be blamed, had a fantastic game. The second half was very embarrasing for the whole team because mentally, we became complacent. I have no idea why that keeps happening. We could and should have put them away.
