    World Cup 2022

I think for Bayern (and the German NT consequently) the possession style football started with Louis van Gaal's arrival.

    World Cup 2022

Yeah, Schweini being a tough guy was a myth. I think it was the 2012 CL final when Bayern was in the penalty shootout against Chelsea, during which he didn't want to watch his teammates or something. I like Schweinsteiger for many reasons and being "a tough guy" was never one of them, and I...

BBZ, may I ask what your ideal of football is? I know you like strong mentality, physicality and direct type but I wanted to verify. It is a bit odd, at least to me that you became a Barca fan. Did the earlier Barca (I started watching Barca only after Ronaldinho came) espouse or carry those...

Good, let's hope Araujo doesn't play against Ghana and Uruguay (a great country) gets eliminated so Araujo can get some proper rehab and rest.

Neymar is huge miss for Brazil. He threads their play together.

    World Cup 2022

Gavi was fine in the first half I thought, winning balls back and helping Spain retain possession but didn't have a lot to show for going forward-wise. Pedri the same but was more vital in the midfield shielding the ball and distributing, a vital cog in the machine.

    World Cup 2022

True, even if Spain and Japan draw, Germany just needs to beat by 2 goals to advance, right?

    World Cup 2022

Fair result indeed, both team pressed hard, retained possession, attacked and the actions were on both ends. Spain is not yet safe and Germany still can advance. If Spain beats Japan and Germany beats Costa Rica by a rather comfortable margin, Germany will be through as the 2nd of the group...

Because he was being chased at a rather high speed and his angle was blocked by Unai Simon and he ran out of time.

    World Cup 2022

If Spain keeps letting Germany press Unai Simon like that, a gaffe is going to happen sooner or later. Just kick the ball to the outfield, come on.

    World Cup 2022

Gnabry, Musiala and Mueller can all score for Germany, also Goretzka. Spain on the other hand, relies on an erratic Ferran and Olmo. Germany has the upside in the scoring department in my opinion.

    World Cup 2022

Both teams were pressing hard in the first half, Spain did well retaining possession amid Germany’s pressing but they have started showing cracks. Just like us, whenever the midfield loses the ball Germany pushes forward at a lightening speed and Spain becomes vulnerable. Germany will score in...

    World Cup 2022

Crosses don’t really work for Spain when you don’t have a tall CF, and the second ball is usually retained by Germany after the initial heading or bounce.

    Women's football

Salma what a player she is. She felt some discomfort before the game and even cried on the bench, who would have thought that she scored a brace after she came on. This team. :worthy: :hooray:
