    10 - Lionel Messi - v5

I don't think he is anymore tbh but that would mostly be attributed to his low center of gravity. Around 2010 I would probably guess that he was around the 70 kgs. Now, I would never shoot that high. I refuse to believe that he has more muscle than say Bale or Ronaldo.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v5

You're really saying that Messi has so much muscle that his BMI borders the point of him being overweight? You're saying he has the second highest BMI in our squad actually. Higher than Ter Stegen who's built like a fucking powerhouse.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v5

He's not Busi skinny. I know he's built quite solid but I refuse to believe he's at 72 kg. What about Masch who has much more muscle than him plus 4 centimetres taller weighing just 1 kg more? Or Umtiti having 12 centimetres on him while weighing only 3 kgs more? Or Paco, Semedo, Arnaiz...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v5

Because he's quite skinny. Sergi Roberto is 8 centimetres taller would weigh 4 kgs less for example. That sounds absurd.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v5

Whoscored says he weighs 72 kg. Absolutely no way that can be true.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v5

Why on god's earth was he playing so deep against Valencia? Half the time he picked up the ball he had Rakitic or Busi standing right next to him. Two players standing right next to eachother occupying the same space and of course one less forward pass option. Rakitic and Busi can distribute the...

    Paulinho

I once heard a rumour that EV wasn't a football oracle incapable of making wrong decisions.

    Andrés Iniesta

The best thing he did last night was put in a cross and people are calling his performance phenomenal. I think his contribution is being severely overrated on here. He sort of keeps trying but simply doesn't really have the knack for unlocking defenses anymore. At most, he can cause slight and...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v5

His whoscored rating for this league season is the highest in his career with just slightly topping 11/12
  10. BusiTheKing

    Paulinho

He's got different strengths, but I can't see how his overall level is unquestionably higher when he puts in absolutely useless performances like tonight. His finishing isn't even very good.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v5

Important take-away is that even though things didn't really seem to work out for him, he still kept going and kept trying. Nobody is doubting that his ability is there. Everyone has off games. What we should fear are mentality issues and he seems very sorted out on that front at the moment...

    Munir El Haddadi

The only player who gets fouled more often than Munir in Europe is Neymar. Geniunely surprised to see that stat. Why the hell does he get fouled so much?

    Ivan Rakitić

I think his biggest negative is still how slow he is on the first few metres, although he seems to be quite intelligent with moving in tight areas and actually going past players without getting himself into sprinting duels.

    7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

I think the main difference between his performances last season and this is that his defensive duties have absolute first priority now. Which of course means even less energy to contribute going forward. Yesterday I counted four times of him sprinting back to cover a man when we were already...

    7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

It's kinda weird seing a different player than Messi do some of that casual playmaking stuff. Almost seems like we're cheating somehow.
  16. BusiTheKing

    André Gomes

It's not the solid displays. It's the absence of any indication that he can produce something more. Also, if he can put in "solid" performances when the really tough games roll in, then I would be less inclined to criticize his presence. I somehow doubt that though, and if he can't then I think...

    Paulinho

I get that he plays a factor there, but that role being so vague, it's very open to interpretation as to what it actually requires. My evaluation is that the role could be filled just as well by a player who also had the dexterity to engage somewhat constructively in the link-up play with Messi...

    Paulinho

I was replying to the other guy. And yes, but that's not what I said - i just took the raw number to illustrate a point. And yes, he's been good in some games. He's also been absolutely useless in others. Because quite like Ronaldo, if he doesn't get the right pass, time his run and find his...

    Paulinho

No? Why would he be rated the best ever for 8 goals in any case? The principle by which both players are being overrated by their goals is the same. I don't see how the difference in scale negates my point.
  20. BusiTheKing

    Paulinho

If his exact goals this season had been scored by Ronaldo, everybody on here would be talking about tap-ins and insignificance. Take away Paulinho's goals and assists and we would have two points less in the league. That number is the same for Denis, for example.
