He's not a top tier midfielder, but he's still useful when used right. I have no illusions that he is or ever will be the type or quality midfielder we need longterm when rebuilding our midfield in a post-Iniesta era. At the end of this season the mere sound of a ball hitting aluminium must give him PTSD. :lol: He played great. Loved the intensity and will he showed, and his physical form seems sharp. Can't wait for the clasico. -

This is why it's a good idea to remain a bit calm and not over hype players that look fantastic in the La Masia system, or even in Barca B, because they need to continue scaling their level of play all the way up to world class for it to be relevant for the first team. Only in the form of meaningless hype-based awards maybe. Anyone with even a minimum of understanding of football can easily see that Messi is the bigger talent, the kind that comes along once a lifetime. If that. No point getting riled up about any of it. :) -

It sucks that he won't make the first clasico, but I'm glad we're not pushing him back before he's absolutely ready. Worst possible thing would be to aggravate the injury and have him out until spring. -

His transfer was worth the shot I think, especially considering how our summer on the transfer market had been. There was a time when he was considered a major La Masia talent, so the homegrown aspect certainly played a role as well. We always cheer a little bit more for players from our own...- Kohe321
