La Liga Round 11: Barca - Elche 3-1

Fermin is Barca's best attacking midfielder. All attacks are more threatening when he's on the pitch. Great job.

    16 - Fermín López

I've always seen him as a disruptor. He challenges defenses and pulls them out of shape. Controlled aggression, and with the technical ability to turn opportunities into goals. Respect.

    World Cup '26 qualifiers discussion

Finally. Boring 10-man low block by Ireland vs Portugal broken in extra time.

    Antoine Griezmann

What smart running from Griezmann. A well-timed diagonal across the ball carrier to confuse the defenders and open up a 2v1 opportunity,

Nico Paz, Julian Alvarez...shaping up to be a potent offense.

Might be location restricted. I'm in the USA.

    Nico Paz

I couldn't find one. But a lot of chatter on him in the Serie A thread.

    Nico Paz

I'm calling it. This kid is on his way to becoming one of the best midfielders of his generation. Watch this goal for just a glimpse of his talent. Full name Nicolás Paz Martínez[1] Date of birth 8 September 2004 (age 21) Place of birth Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain Height 1.86 m...

Here's a screen cap 1 second before he scored. How many players can turn that situation into an unstoppable goal in the back of the net?

    Serie A

Yep. As I said a few weeks ago, on his way to becoming one of the best midfielders of his generation. Better footage of that goal.

    João Cancelo

Winning goal vs Hungary. Poached a pass to start the attack, then finished it with a brilliant shot placed in the corner.

    João Félix

Portugal vs Armenia. What an amazing improvised finish from a deflected pass. Brilliant. Ibra/Suarez level stuff.

    Serie A

Yep, looking forward to it. Already has been called up 3x to the Argentina national team as well.

    Serie A

I don't. I only use superlatives when justified. Hell, I still don't think that highly of Pedri, if you're wondering how picky I am. :D

    Serie A

Nico Paz...damn, he's good. On the way to becoming one of the best midfielders on the planet. Ridiculous turn and through pass assist, and an exquisite free kick to create both goals against Lazio. This guy's a gem.

    Barca 2025 pre-season

No, he hasn't always had that awareness. Previously, a head-down player when receiving the ball with his back to goal, always getting caught up in dwelling on the ball and shielding it in 1 on 1 battles with his markers, killing offensive play because he had no idea what his options were before...

    Barca 2025 pre-season

This is FdJ's big improvement since returning under Flick. He scans more and has much better awareness of his teammates' positions than he used to have. No hesitation, immediate release to players ready to receive. Just another Rakitic up until this past year.
