Xavi, Iniesta and Messi all went up a level under Pep. Xavi and Iniesta were top players prior to Pep. Under Pep they became legendary and seen as best of all time in their positions by many. Xavi almost left and Iniesta has also spoken about not being happy with his role before Pep. Etoo...

If fit yes he probably should. Torres good off bench and can cover more positions and Lewas height useful defensively. Did you miss the bit when said it is not about 'preferring' Torres to Lewa at CF?

Want to compare the goal scoring of Lewa vs Auba and LDJ under Xavi? Better not. Ah yes lets ignore the Xavi years as he was such a poor coach Lewa couldnt compete v Real. Lets ignore Auba went to Bernabeu and scored twice after a few months etc. Just too difficult for Lewa under Xavi.

No we are disccussing Lewa in his time at Barca. Very un Xavi of you though.

Indeed he was and Ferran got 3 assists. Other players get blamed for missing games with injury... but we can ignore that. Missed 1 game. So yes 1 goal vs Real in league.. 1 in 5. Exclude his 30 mins v Inter then and scored in 1 CL KO game in last 6. Still poor point making out he does...

Lewa in European knock out ties has scored in 1 of last 7 appearances vs Dortmund at home. Lewa has scored in 1 league game vs Real Madrid. Calma on the 'biggest games' claim. I dont think anyone is claiming he should replace Lewandowski either if club have options.

Barca scored more in the games Lewa didnt start last season. Lewa scored 0 in 2 last time he played PSG etc.

Would you like club to pay him say 25m to renew for a season?

    Barcelona's next number 9

Barca scored 6 in 2 games. Defence was clearly the issue. And Lewa hardly set world on fire in Europe.

I am not saying I prefer Ferran to Lewa...Just Lewa for me is not missed enough to warrant his high salary/cost. Dont agree on the idea 'dominates' the box all that much though. Why not just renew Lewa then? If he is the best and stll scoring and cheaper than Kane? Why not pay him some more...

Lewa is the better finisher but he largely last season was not missed when out. Nor was he missed in Xavis league title win when out. Doesnt mean he is useless or no impact it just means is the huge money on him worth it or not. For me so far no. Too much and wouldnt want to repeat it with...

I doubt they sell Kane for 50-60m. Haaland clearly be harder to get but big fee for Kane in mid 30s on large wages dont think would be worth it.

    Barcelona's next number 9

Indeed he did and good goals but also his first goals in league v Real in 3 seasons is it not? Ferran scored a great goal to equalise in final. Scored away to Atleti to help come back and win league game and to win away in Cup. Also got 3 assists at home to Real to clinch league. Scored in CL...

    Barcelona's next number 9

No he wouldnt but he would be at the club longer and could be sold on or renewed in future. There is a very good reason he could demand more. Kane would still demand a fortune for a player in mid 30s and still be a big fee. My guess is they would want a good bit more than Barca paid for Lewa.

    Barcelona's next number 9

Kane would never be a cheaper transfer and Lewa hasnt been either. Players at that stage of their careers largely want paid. Barca were just fine wihout Lewa last season. Won/were winning every game and scored more than average. The most he was missed was probably defensively vs Inter from...

He is praising Xavi there and Xavi does have experience in football so doesnt fit what a 'graduate' is anyway.

    Hans-Dieter Flick

Cant reply with anything of relevance as all facts layed out. There are no Barto 'fan boys' and not the point. What the point is what Laporta was left to deal with but likes of you only want to make out he was left with nothing and built club from rubble. The fact is Barca had a great group...
