    Frenkie de Jong

We shouldnt believe everything we read though. Its like BBZ just yesterday attacking De Jong for being a coward with attitude problems because De Jong supposedly was afraid of Barcelona's competition in midfield. Then he signs for Barcelona today... 16m net is far more than Suarez, our second...

    Matthijs de Ligt

If Umtiti's situation doesnt improve and Todibo is one of those 4, it would be irresponsible to not enter the season with more than 4 first team central defenders. Would we have signed Todibo if he wasnt free? Is he really considered a fantastic defender, able to do the job against any team incl...

    Matthijs de Ligt

I think the need is pretty high. Pique at 32 is quite old and risky to count on for much longer, and Umtiti could be done if his knee doesnt respond. Todibo is a total wild card, more so than Yerry Mina. He's almost a Barca B type of signing, so its very risky to count on him too much. Lenglet...

I cant imagine the 10m+6m bonus is net, so its about 8-9m net incl bonuses.

    Barca Transfers and Rumors

Yeah, they count on Vermaelen and Roberto, but I'm not convinced.

    Frenkie de Jong

The best of the best already play at the best clubs that dont sell though. Thats why we have to sign players from smaller clubs and leagues.

    Frenkie de Jong

I think most saw him as a low risk, high reward transfer worth taking a chance on a year ago. But that was a year ago, and now the price has skyrocketed. Thats the danger of waiting until the player is chased by half of Europe.

    Matthijs de Ligt

Hopefully its Pique's age they are thinking about.

    Matthijs de Ligt

I agree, but offloading Raki has probably more to do with reducing wages rather than getting a big transfer fee. Cant see us getting more than 20m max for him.

    Matthijs de Ligt

Yes, 90m for De Ligt as well is mental. Now we should go back to looking in the German and French leagues for good lower risk options. The transfer market hype train for these two Dutch players is really something else.

    Adrien Rabiot

He cant be a big commercial value while on the bench. But who knows what will happen. I think its a headache for the management.

    Adrien Rabiot

Cou has already been with us for a year. We're not selling him now but in the summer, if he doesnt improve, I think they'll definitely look to do it. Big money signings with high wages pretty much have to play. It would surprise me if he's given as much time as Cesc. That was a painful experience.

    Adrien Rabiot

Rabiot can play DM with Arthur and De Jong slightly ahead of him. I just cant see a place for Coutinho in our midfield and he's far behind Dembele as a forward option. We might look to recoup most of the transfer fee while we can.
  14. J

    Adrien Rabiot

Maybe he thinks he has to play DM for us, but for sure we're offering far higher wages.
  15. J

    Paulo Dybala

Doubtful RM would go for him. He's too old unless he has an expiring contract which he doesnt have AFAIK.
  16. J

    Adrien Rabiot

I guess that would be about 3.5-4m net per year.
  17. J

    Adrien Rabiot

I think Rabiot can still be signed. I suspect we are planning to offload Coutinho in the summer. And probably Raki as well.

    Frenkie de Jong

MD are saying 86m+4m variables. Either way, these variables are probably just very easy ones, almost guaranteed to be paid the following year or two, to ensure we comply with FFP.

    Frenkie de Jong

It would be lower. They have estimated the value of players. They also include transfer fees paid/received in the staff costs.

    Frenkie de Jong

Its not purely a wage expense, its staff costs, which includes the decline in the value of our players.
