A few years ago when he was awesome at Dortmund I was certain by now he'd be a consistently top 10 player in the world or even top 5 but he's stagnated. Should've stayed at Dortmund.

He's been an absolute rock all season long. I can't say I've seen enough of other top CBs this season to really properly judge but Pique this season has been up there with Godin, Boateng, and Thiago Silva at their best.

This isn't the 90s. There's a lot of people who know who Messi is here. Association football has grown exponentially in the past decade.

He can pull off some good passes but he's not near Iniesta or Rakitic at passing, let alone Messi. He gets assists because he creates space with his movement, tenacity, and goal threat then has the intelligence to set teammates up. I'm very excited to see what magic we'll see from MSN against Psg.

Imagine actually fat Messi vs fat Cristiano. Both their games would obviously suffer but an out of shape, fat Ronaldo would be an incredibly average player. Messi would still have awesome(slow) dribbling and the passing.

I've only seen one match but it was quickly clear he has much better technical quality than your average big generic English 9.
