    6 - Carles Alena

JamDav1982 even Thiago in 2011 slowed down the game. "Obvious passes" are never that obvious. BTW since 2011 more teams have learned how to press. That's why we don't see a midfielder dancing around and showing off skills like Xavi and Iniesta used to do. Even Xavi and Iniesta seems less...

    6 - Carles Alena

Alena actually has only a few games as subs before. Now suddenly he's starting and playing with Paulinho Denis Vidal who are, just not good. Give him more time. He was better when he was shorter. But being tall and strong is also an asset. Just be better than Gomes and replace Rakitic.

    6 - Carles Alena

I'm against loaning him out. What he needs is the technical ability in tight spaces, which he can only learn in Barca from Iniesta, Busquets etc. Playing in any other team may result in a mediocre midfielder who would do great in Villareal or Sevillla etc but no Barca.

    FC Barcelona B (Barça Atlètic)

Maybe it's too early to think about Busquets' replacement, but I think Barca B should pay some attention to their passing game now. When the B team is playing like a bunch of headless chicken (I'm exaggerating but you know what I mean), no midfield talent can develop. BTW where are our wingers...

Of course he will go to RM. CR7's replacement. :crbust:

    Barca Transfers and Rumors

Personally I don't rate Arnaiz. Best case scenario he will be an impact sub. I rate Alena though. That's not because his achievement right now. It's just really hard to find a midfielder who's capable of controlling and passing balls in tight spaces right now. Nearly every "established star...

His link-up play... so close to Dani Alves:worthy:

    Arda Turan

Maybe he lost self-discipline during that 6-month rest. And the lack of playing time after that... a career killer indeed. And he just couldn’t compete with Neymar or Iniesta, so he let himself go. Who knows.

    Denis Suarez

If I am the manager of Valencia CF, I will buy this guy for 20mil. A great winger/midfielder for Valencia.

Just imagine it a little bit... Holiday spirit is still here, who else wants a Christmas Tree? Messi Coutinho Dembele Don Busi Raki Alba Pique Umtiti Semedo ter Stegen

    Ernesto Valverde - V1

EV: Finally. The new season begins. Barto: You have one month to face Chelsea. EV: :( BTW we can finally see EV's style. He has been cleaning up the mess for too long. Now it's time to meet the real EV.

    11 - Ousmane Dembélé - V1

We are no more a possession team. We are so often around 50-60% this season and relying on players' individual brilliance to create chances. One game against Levante changes nothing. We need somebody fresh and explosive to add another dimension to our attacking play. I hope Dembele can do that...

    11 - Ousmane Dembélé - V1

For me there's no such thing as "can't" in football (that's its beauty). For most teams Pep's tiki-taka may be a suicide and before Pep no one was able to win trophies playing like that. Tradition wins points, innovation wins champions.

    11 - Ousmane Dembélé - V1

I always want to see Countinho-Messi-Dembele upfront and switching positions. Messi false 9 again.

    11 - Ousmane Dembélé - V1

    1. I don't think his game vs. England is a very good sample. It's a friendly and he's basically the No.10. Of course his area will clash with Messi. 2. Suarez was the perfect core of a counter-attacking team (Liverpool) before he joined us. He was a much more established player. 3. One of...

    11 - Ousmane Dembélé - V1

I think Dembele lost the ball most often when he tried to dribble past defender. He hasn't got the timing right. It's a new system for him. He will learn.

    Paulinho

Hope Lord P continues his current form. Not easy though. Fabregas used to bring us goals and goals in his first year. When the honeymoon passed endless quarrels began. Hope he stays humble (hope he learned that in China), not forgetting how to do the dirty work.

    7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

If we have Coutinho we should play Coutinho-Messi-Dembele afront. Other options include Coutinho-Suarez-Messi (if Dembele is not ready for Barca football) and Coutinho playing in Iniesta's position (against weak teams).

    7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

Pep's City plays more like 2005 Arsenal for me. Most chances come from fast transition play, not tikitaka which happened in 2009 near the box between Messi, Pedro, Dani Alves and Villa. Tikitaka is dead.
