IIRC their biggest achievement was reaching SF in the old format back in the 90's. I may be wrong on this, but I definitely know they have never in their club history reached the final (both in old and new format).

It would be better for his career if he leaves to a team that has a solid sporting project. I hope this is true because it will benefit both parties in the long term. It will take us at the minimum two seasons to build a new strong team. Messi does not have the time for that.
