    Arturo Vidal

Of course. Valverde lacks character (meaning we're using this evening). I, on the other hand, wanted to point out it's not only about the coach. Or something similar.

    Arturo Vidal

Sorry, no. That's a great midfield right there. We can moan our midfield is not good enough all we want, but it's up to the coach to set it up to properly and make it work. One could argue we don't lose battles against allegedly the best midfield in the world in Clasicos. My point: it's not...

    Paco Alcácer

Thing is, we're not getting that I suppose. Which is shame. I don't think Paco's a bad player and reckon he'd be quite useful for a team like Watford. In fact, don't think such teams would've regretted paying 30 mil for him. Had no idea Watford owned Cucho. Is he staying this season with...

    Arturo Vidal

At least you're admitting there are patterns. Can live with that. :D
  5. Joan

    Arturo Vidal

Completely agree. But that's exactly what you do. 'oh we didn't have a coach with character' - Valverde, 'oh, we didn't have an adaptable coach' - Lucho etc. Saying we're lacking fighting spirit is not simplifying, it's recognizing a pattern. Of course each match has to be discussed on its own...

    Arturo Vidal

You'd make an individual case for each CL exit from the list and wouldn't doubt squad's fighting spirit? That's fair, I wouldn't.

    Arturo Vidal

Would be handy if removing Valverde solved all of our problems. As Messi983 pointed out, 5 different coaches, similar outcomes. Can't tell me Lucho had no character. It's plainly obvious to me some of our players started to lack fighting spirit. Sure, firing Valverde for a random madman might...

    Arturo Vidal

Very good post, BBZ. People can discuss if character is the right word to use, but the point stands. The team lacks hunger, natural drive, fighting spirit... that's not something you either do or don't have, can be lost over years. Guys who have won it all usually lose some of it...

    Arturo Vidal

I don't think they're selling but let's look at this. Suppose the boy's willing to come here. (1) wait until his contract runs out (deal of a century) or (2) PSG willing to sell a year before so they make money on him, you really believe PSG would prioritize someone else over us? I think they'd...

    Paco Alcácer

Don't know why, it was BarcaTimes if I recall correctly and they're still there... Anyways, yes. 2 years loan, obligatory buy, to Watford.

    Arturo Vidal

Poor Vinicius, gonna end his career this madman.

    Ernesto Valverde - V1

Arguably the best squad in the world. The club and the fans are entitled to expect a lot.
  13. Joan

    Arturo Vidal

Suppose you've seen enough of him, do you think he has badly declined? Do you think he can still pull off a wc season?
  14. Joan

    Arturo Vidal

He's 31, will be 32 next May. Obviously the player Valverde wants. If he can give us a good season or two, then it's a good deal. I'm afraid of his decile, though. There aren't many available options, however.
  15. Joan

    Arturo Vidal

    Is Pogba the special one?
  16. Joan

    Thiago Translantara

 Clutching at straws there. What if Thiago stays fit for a season, I've heard it's on Bayern's medical team, youngsters won't play at all? It's like this, Vidal is a stopgap, won't last here for long. Thiago? If he comes, longterm solution. The club obviously doesn't want to take that path...

    Vidal (not Aleix)

    Arturo Vidal

Vidal also scores often. For instance, last season in the league Paulinho scored every 215, Vidal every 243 minutes. Vidal is a better player, there's no doubt. We'll see if he keeps the level, though. Paulinho is a better scorer, also no doubt.

    Lucas Digne

Everton's manager, Marco Silva, said this about Digne: "Since I saw him the first time I saw that he wanted to play for Everton. Lucas is a player who will bring competitiveness in the right back position for us." poor Digne

    Arturo Vidal

Can only take your word for it. His sudden decline is my biggest worry. I've read a lot of comments saying he's declined in last 2 season. But I rarely watch Bayern, tbf, so I couldn't really tell.
