    21 - Frenkie de Jong

Fair enough. A range of views on him here. You guys all know better than me being actual Barca fans.

    Argentina

True, fair point - it shoots a team in the foot to not be playing competitive matches. Like you say it almost happened in 2010. The night Maradona did that slide I won £100 off a £1 stake lol, 100/1 odds on an acca. It is the best bet I have ever had in terms of value.

    Nations League 24/25

Yeah I remember some of those. Cheers, I don't follow the national team much - mainly because our FA are utter clowns and some of our fans can be a bit much. But it's still nice to see them do well, really. Good luck for you guys too, though I know the best you can do is third.

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Yes, Rivaldo's is a much better goal, both occasion and ability wise. I don't think anyone has denied that really. Ronaldo's bicycle kick the other night is one of the less impressive ones ever scored, still decent though.

    Nations League 24/25

I never watched any of the Nations League games this season other than Scotland v Portugal. However, I think it is a very big ask for us to win in Poland. I think they'll get at least a draw, consigning us to bottom place and relegation.

    Argentina

I mean the team that are current world champions must qualify for the next edition. Argentina have to qualify for the next one. So theoretically we could have a modern world cup without the champions/holders. It never used to be like that - the champions used to qualify automatically, like the...

    Cristiano Ronaldo

I knew there was a Ronnie one - look at the twist after the chest control - it's even more impressive in adjustment than Mexes's. The twist and hit in one movement looks nearly impossible to do.

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Yes I remember that well. IIRC the match finished 0-0 but he had an incredible shot that hit the post, as you say. That was in 2010 World Cup.

    Argentina

@soul24rage I am just looking at their seven remaining fixtures man. Peru (H) Uruguay (A) Brazil (H) Chile (A) Colombia (H) Venezuela (H) Ecuador (A) There's some tough ones here (on paper and reputation at least) but they have likely already done more than enough to qualify anyway even if...

    Nations League 24/25

Scotland can still reach the quarter-finals and hence avoid relegation. It is a big ask though - requires both us winning in Poland and Portugal winning in Croatia. Anything other than a win for Scotland sees us relegated automatically. Also, this

    Mohamed Salah

He's scored a lot of brilliant goals at Liverpool, but for me this is his best - I watched it live. The strength he displays when he first receives the ball is excellent, and then he turns. Next he shifts the ball using the sole of his boot in a tight space- many players wouldn't think to do...

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

As far as dribbling goes, the Getafe and Real Madrid goals are obviously brilliant and stand out (among many others), but there is something special about the goal against Athletic Club. I think what I like about this goal is he doesn't really move in a straight line (for Getafe he comes inside...

    Cristiano Ronaldo

The Porto goal is still one of my favourite goals of his - it doesn't seem to get talked about as much as others but look how far out he is, how perfectly he connects, and how it flies so straight like an arrow into the top corner more or less

    Real Madrid

Superb video. It's only when you see these elite guys close up that you realise just how immeasurably better then are than the rest of us. Some of us are quality players at grassroots level, but next to these top guys we are absolutely woeful.

    Neymar

All the talent in the world. For me more talented than anyone in his generation but Messi. Achieved a lot but should have achieved so much more. A shame. It isn't hindsight as plenty of us said it at the time, but the move to PSG in summer 2017 was a demarcating point. The league is good but...

    FC Barcelona Femení

Yeah great finish at 55 seconds especially. Drilled right into the bottom corner with power and precision.

    Favourite PL team

Probably Brighton, right now. Think they do things quite intelligently, generally spend sensibly (a bit more extravagant in the summer) bring through young players, try to play good possession but also entertaining football. It also seems a fairly attractive looking place in general (never...

    Toughest Opponent for Prime Barca....

Fair point, just made similar points to you there. One thing I would say is that Ferguson often played five in midfield and one up front away in the CL at that time, so he could win the ties at Old Trafford, which was a bit of a fortress then. So United did have experience of defending, but of...

    Toughest Opponent for Prime Barca....

I watched a lot of football back then, and it did seem like Chelsea were THE team who always gave Barca - even peak Pep Barca - most trouble. Like you lads say they were extremely well drilled defensively under Jose and he left that legacy, but weren't afraid to get involved in the dark arts...
