    Liverpool

Nah he hates Man United, but he rates Vidic and Carrick, amongst others lol. He says Carrick was understated and underrated. I think he was good but obviously a couple of levels below Scholes.

    CL Round 5: Barca - Brest 3-0

Goal difference will be very important in this league, so they're doing good work for themselves.

    Liverpool

Probably better individually, but you can argue that the Liverpool trio functioned better as a unit and for longer. Agree on VVD. I have never rated Vidic - good player, he was amazing in the air but overall a clogger who constantly brought down players and wasn't good on the ball either. I'd...

    Liverpool

Great video. That parody account obviously loves him a lot as a player. He's another who was an unselfish playmaking 9 and helped Mane and Salah score so many goals. Here's a question (putting aside your liking for Ronaldo and your Liverpool supporting) - Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez or Mane...

    9 - Robert Lewandowski

That's a brilliant piece of skill and vision.

The best number 9 of the past 15 years?

Prime Falcao before the injuries destroyed him was incredible. Amazing (and I mean amazing) in the air for a guy who wasn't even that tall, great strike on him, good hold up play, strong. He had a lot going for him. Unfortunately some people see him as a meme for his time at Man United. But at...

The best number 9 of the past 15 years?

Finally made a decision on this. Lewa, Suarez were close (I am a big fan of Kane too), but I went with Benzema. The way he was so unselfish in that Real Madrid team for so many years, and was actually criticised for 'not scoring enough' (when the team didn't function the same without him) was...

    Alexis Mac Allister

Lol nah I don't think it is pretty privilege either because I quite like him as a player too. Only 24 and could explode under Slot.

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

Remember that game well. I think I am one of the few people who likes that song.

    Alexis Mac Allister

Yeah you make some good points, especially about Thiago's talent and Dom's physicality. Alexis seems a bit in between - a good all rounder but doesn't 'excel' in anything. Still a quality player but has to do more.

    Alexis Mac Allister

Yeah he's a bit jack of all trades master of none. I do like him a lot though. That is what I meant that he isn't a stats merchant but his all-round game isn't good enough for stats not to matter at all - unlike, say, Iniesta.

    CL Round 5: Barca - Brest 3-0

Agree on the away games thing. And that is what I predicted too mate. 3-1.
  13. Maradona37

    Alexis Mac Allister

He seems the type who's very good as a midfielder, but not so good in general play that stats are irrelevant for him. So he needs to try to add some goals and assists.

    Champions League 2024-25

Tonight's predictions, open to anyone trying to convince me I should change any.

They've implanted themselves all night I heard.

    CL Round 5: Barca - Brest 3-0

They're no longer a soft touch.

    Best assists ever

Or key passes leading to a goal. A beautiful one was posted in the Fabregas thread recently. Another that stands out is Kaka leaving Gerrard in his wake and playing a beautiful through ball which Carragher unsuccessfully tried to intercept for THAT Crespo goal in the 2005 CL Final. Feel free...

I didn't realise Paolo Guerrero is still playing for Peru. Guy must be ancient.

    Hans-Dieter Flick

Yeah it's dancing with the devil really. When it works it has sensational benefits, but is extremely risky and law of averages says there will be several times it will not work. Not just Barca either, it's risky for any team in this era of fast, intelligent forwards who know how to bend runs...

    Manchester United

I think he's their most overrated player lol. Opinions I guess.
