    Barca Transfers and Rumors

I know it was a mess. Didn't want to go into details for that reason. Didn't feel like googling. That boat has sailed. But I genuinely wonder how he would do in a bigger club. Not that Dost is some outlandish talent, but I've seen him play many neat matches. Ibra comes to mind.

Napoli has tried to keep its best players continually showing ambition. For instance, them refusing a 100 mil offer for Koulibaly. But it's similar. Once you start selling your best players your results will most likely oscillate and your level drop. Was the case with Dortmund. Now with...

Bas Dost could've come for free in the summer since lots of contracts were terminated. Am I right? Seemed like an interesting option to me. Mandzukic would be a perfect player. But there is no way he would leave a first 11 spot in Juve to sit on Barca's bench.

I seem to agree with the other part of you. But it's quite hard to find a suitable option. They seem to have taken this issue lightly in the summer. Betting on Munir with his deal expiring was a mistake. I thought we could go for Bas Dost in the summer (two-meter peter ), but he...

Where did I talk about Lyon being 'good' or 'bad'?

I have already argued on this board that such strategies rarely improve the league. Right after Monaco's season. Look where they are now. Sometimes you'll struck a gold mine, but most likely you'll finish 20 points behind the only serious team in the league which keeps its best players.

Of course they invest. They invest in usually low risk high reward players who they often sell once they improve. Lyon, as such, with all those 'great' players is posing no threat. They 19 points behind PSG.

    Ibrahima Konaté

But, but how come farmers league can produce talents??! So off the target.

After you sell your best players you either find ways to continue competing (like Liverpool did after selling Coutinho by reinvesting the money) or fail to (like Monaco did after selling most of their golden generation). But I bet that selling Fekir won't make Lyon any better. Nor will the exit...

The same Lyon which was selling its best player in the summer? Also, I see there are rumors about Fekir leaving as we speak.

Talented players in France end up with 2 options. (1) play for PSG (2) leave the country. Can't improve the league that way.

He also left his team. By chance, went to PSG, which is an attractive club. Unlike many others.

Some of the players French academies produce are quality. They often leave before they reach certain levels. French clubs are often its biggest enemy. Prime example: Monaco's golden generation. We often see how good that competition is. There is none.

If Ligue 1 has got anything, it's academics. They're producing quality. Nothing to do with its farmers' league status.

    La Liga 2018/19

Football fans are often nostalgic. I said it was a shame vocal and numerous fanbases were absent from the first league, that I can agree with. But I first wish historically important clubs (if I can put it that way) were better. As long as Eibar/Getafe or some other club does better than them...

    La Liga 2018/19

I disagree with that view. Maybe it's a shame historical 'powerhouses' are poor at the moment, but I'm glad we've got better teams in the league. Eibar, for instance, is doing well for several seasons in a row, playing entertaining football. Wish them to keep it up and establish themselves as a...

Read Valverde's latest interview. Says the club's trying to bring a new 9. It sorts of confirms our interest. There's not much time left.

    Frenkie de Jong

Most talented German player. There were several reports linking us to him. I expect him to be in a similar price range. But the question of fit of a pure AM remains.
