Transfers and Rumours - old thread

We should give them Valdes + cash for Lloris. Lloris and Valdes deserve to switch clubs imo :p

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

The team will definitely need to step up their attitude big time in the return leg if they want to make a comeback. IMO, with a few changes to the lineup, if we play like we did against Chelsea and FINISH OUR CHANCES we can go through.

    Jordi Alba

Hmm... Montoya can play on the left, right? Adriano's too offensive to pair with Alves IMO. I suppose we should go with Alba/Montoya and Alves/Montoya.

    Jordi Alba

IMO, we should alternate between Alba/Montoya and Alves/Abidal (people want variation in the lineup, and this is a pretty good way to add some), with the former being used more often in big games. We should also use Iniesta in midfield for big games (especially against park the bus teams) with...

Can Barca make it to the QF of the CL?

It would be better than last year, that's for sure. However, for this team, any season in which the CL is not won is an average season at best. That said, I can see us pulling off the comeback, and even winning the CL afterwards. The comeback will be tough though, that's for sure.

    Pep Guardiola

Wish we were better with transfers. With a few good signings, this team could be perfect.

Transfers and Rumours - old thread

:hooray: From what I hear, he'll be expensive, and pretty hard to get but he could be worth it. He's probably the only (somewhat) experienced keeper we could (somehwat) realistically get.

Can Barca make it to the QF of the CL?

Small tactical changes (like Iniesta at CM and Villa at LW) will probably be needed, but I don't think we should make drastic changes, and I somewhat agree with the bolded point. Wednesday's loss was, IMO, partly due to tactics but also partly because we had a bad game. To win, IMO we will need...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

Levante away > Getafe at home (which is what a lot of people were using as an example of why Iniesta should be in the center). But yes, it seems like we should use Iniesta in the center in big games. Especially in the 2nd leg against Milan.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

IMO, next season, something like this lineup can fix the flaws you mentioned Alves/Montoya-Pique-Hummels-Abidal/Alba Xavi-Busquets-Iniesta Pedro-Messi-Villa A good CB like Hummels to replace Puyol and not playing Alves and Alba at the same time should solve the issue of the defense. Having...

    Positive Thinking Cules

Fun fact: Barca have only won 3 of their 12 away matches in the CL knockout rounds from 2009 to 2012, yet have reached the semi finals every time. :barca scarf:

Can Barca make it to the QF of the CL?

We might be able to score from a free kick, Messi's scored quite a few this season (he's scored the same number as Ronaldo with less attempts). A corner's unlikely, since Puyol's our only player who can score from corners. Then again, if we can cause a clusterfuck in the box like we did against...

    Pep Guardiola

Barca can pull off a comeback, though it will be tough. And IMO, the reason we lost the first leg is partly due to the fact that Tito had to leave and we had to use Roura.

Tactics/Lineup in the 2nd leg of the CL?

What I meant was that we should use Cesc if we want to stick to the false 9 and Villa if we don't.

Tactics/Lineup in the 2nd leg of the CL?

IMO, if we play anyone besides Messi in the center, it should be Villa or maybe Cesc if we wanna stick to the false 9. Btw, what lineup did we use when we beat them 3-1 last year?

Tactics/Lineup in the 2nd leg of the CL?

Many said that we should change our tactics and lineup around a bit for the 2nd leg of the CL, and I agree, to an extent. What lineup/tactics would you like to see? Personally, I think we should try: Valdes Alves/Montoya-Pique-Puyol-Alba/Abidal Xavi-Busquets-Iniesta Pedro-Messi-Villa Or maybe...

    Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

:( Any chance of him making an early return? :p If we get through to the QF (unlikely, but IMO we can pull it off), I'm hoping we don't get a tough team until the semis.
  18. darthvader7888

    David Villa

Yeah, we can pull it off, but we'll need to play a lot better than we did in the first leg. We'll also need more urgency and directness. Hope we're back on form soon, we've been off-form for a while IMO. We haven't been that great especially in away games. A few changes to the lineup wouldn't...

Sergio Ramos: "Voy con el Barça cuando juegan con un equipo extranjero"

Too bad the chances of this happening are pretty low, but it would be awesome if we got him. He's not a walking red card for Spain, so I don't think he'd be one at Barca either. Imagine this lineup: De Gea/Courtois/Ter Stegen Alves/Montoya-Ramos-Pique-Alba/Abidal Xavi-Busquets-Cesc/Iniesta...

    Alex Song

Well we have Puyol, Song and Abidal (soon). But yeah, we can definitely use a few more players like that. Btw, how good is Hummels in that regard? He'd be an awesome purchase if he has physicality.
