    Never heard about that.

    Alessandro Del Piero

A long time ago (very long) so nobody alive will have seen him play, and the game has changed so much, but Meazza was apparently class. Won two World Cups, though admittedly one was very politically charged under Mussolini. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giuseppe_Meazza

And there's the first confirmed mathematical qualifier (yes I know some other teams are highly likely through). Flamengo top Group D. Will play Bayern, Benfica or Boca (all the Bs) in knockout round.

Well done to Esperance. Went for 2-1 LA FC for this, but glad to be wrong really.

    14 - Marcus Rashford

I've noticed that guys from mainland Europe on here talk about salaries as the year - '20 million' or whatever. Whereas here in UK we tend to talk about wages per week. Like '400 grand a week'. It's like another metric vs imperial system cultural difference.

    14 - Marcus Rashford

If they were gonna pay most of his salary they might as well just keep him for themselves this season. He's very useful in games where they counter attack and sit back. I know they're talking about 'cultural resets' and all that bollocks, but personally (while I don't really rate him), I think...

Predicted 2-2 A risk but if it comes off will climb even higher in the table as majority backing Bayern. I was part of the 8 percent who successfully predicted Flamengo tonight so it's already good.

Next game coming up is a bit of a minnow clash. Bayern - Boca could be good. It starts at 2 am for me though, hopefully can stay awake.

Copa Libertadores is about halfway through, time wise. Believe it runs Feb to Nov. It's about to start last 16 in August. So they're pretty tuned in.

    Aye I agree.

    Club World Cup

They probably will in the end. But as I said a few times already, the world is too Eurocentric. The top South American clubs have always caused problems for Europe's elite going all the way back to Santos with Pele and winning friendlies or exhibition games etc. It's a much different world...

    Club World Cup

Predicted 8-0 to Benfica. Just the five in the end. I wonder if the weather delays messed up their groove. After the Bayern game the predictor site had to make the box for predictions bigger to enable double figures  Edit, was 6 in the end lol.

Predicted Flamengo 2-1. Looks like I have a correct outcome. Thanks to @Don Juan Laporta Estruch because I originally chose Chelsea, but changed as he made good points about the passion of the South Americans.

Another weather delay  Honestly, just take the World Cup away from them @MonteCuler @KingLeo10

    Club World Cup

Just quoting what I said today. The world is a bit Eurocentric. Yes you do get some hammerings like the Juventus game and Bayern that was against a semi-pro team, but the non Euro teams have generally been competitive. Now you can argue that European teams are tired, or struggling in the heat...

Botafogo currently throwing a spanner in the works. They didn't read the script.

    10 - Lamine Yamal

I was gonna say that, but was afraid it was a footballer I don't recognise and I'd get mocked for not getting it. I am still not convinced he's not some obscure footballer most of you know and I don't, or a famous player whose face I'm just not registering, and your post isn't sarcasm. He looks...

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

Maybe he will lose his legs in a car crash before Tuesday. Only something drastic like that stops him still being the best playmaker in the world when he he turns 38.
