Yeah, too many great midfielders for him to succeed at Barca.

Transfers and Rumours - old thread

Hmm... didn't Rosell say that there's an RM player he'd like to buy? Can't think of anyone it could be besides Ramos, except maybe Casillas. Anyways, I think they realize he's not a realistic option. If he were to hand in a transfer request or his conflict with Mou were to escalate (provided...

    Thiago Silva

    Good news for us :D

    Cesc Fàbregas

Knowing Messi, he'll probably be back for the PSG game. I still think Cesc would be solid though, if Messi's not back.

    Marc Bartra

Pique, Puyol, Masch, Bartra and a new CB. It should work. I still think getting 2 CBs and loaning Bartra for playing time MIGHT be the better option though. However, only 1 CB is absolutely necessary.

    Raphael Varane

Yeah, he's great, but not perfect. A bit overrated IMO (not super overrated though, just a bit). I gotta say though, credit to him for pushing Pepe out of RM's starting lineup at the age of 19.

    Raphael Varane

Make it happen! :rosell: Btw, they signed him in the summer of 2011, right? When we spent 30m on Sanchez :(

    Pep Guardiola

Yeah, I can definitely see him returning to the club. Not sure whether it'll be as a coach or president or whatever, but I can definitely see him returning at some point.

    Gerard Piqué

Like I said before, Pique has the talent IMO. He is world class in that aspect. His problem is that he's too inconsistent and underperforms way too often. I think getting the right CB to pair him with and perhaps 1 more CB to challenge him for that starting spot can help solve the problem.

    Marc Bartra

Doesn't Muniesa have world-class potential? Not as good as Varane, but still. Something needs to be done about the injury problems though.

    Gerard Deulofeu

Eh, I'd take still take Villa over Sanchez. Especially since Villa tends to do well in big games. He wasn't in great form before the Milan game either, and he still did great.

    FC Barcelona Statistics 2012/2013

Weird how the 2nd best conversion rate was last season. Remember our finishing vs chelsea? I'm still liking the conversion rate stats. Not really liking the less shots and more shots conceded thing though.

Which CB would you sign for Barça?

Interesting... City themselves haven't been that great this season. Isn't it the same case with Aguero? If what you're saying is true though, then I'm not quite as sold on Kompany as I was before. Still think he could be an awesome buy for us (pretending for a moment that it has a realistic...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

I wouldn't say the rest of our attack is average. Villa's a great striker too. Pedro/Sanchez have been shit this season though. Agree that we are dependent on Messi though, like you said, mainly because Messi is Messi.
  16. darthvader7888

    Thiago Silva

Well, our transfer budget's a bit higher this time and some players (Valdes, etc) will probably be sold which could make it higher still.
  17. darthvader7888

    Thiago Silva

We also needed an LB last summer and our transfer budget was a bit lower (and our transfer budget can be higher still with a few sales, like Valdes). Besides, PSG would probably have outbid us on Silva anyway. And apparently Silva would have been earning more than anyone in the team besides...

    Gareth Bale

    Damn that's gotta hurt...

    Thiago Silva

From what I've heard, it seems to me like we were interested but weren't willing to meet the price tag.

    Gerard Deulofeu

Messi and Pedro will probably be back for the PSG game, so I don't think Sanchez will be playing it.
