Transfers and Rumours - old thread

Now that I think about it, I don't think Lewandowski would be a great idea, since he can't play on the wing. We may need to play Messi behind a striker at times, but I don't see why we shouldn't play him in his best position most of the time. Which means that if Villa leaves, the striker we get...

    Mats or Thiago ?

Agree. And about the wages, I can see him being willing to take a paycut. First of all, he's said that he's a Barca fan. Second of all, he'll have a good shot at winning the CL if he joins Barca. And isn't Ibra rumored to be willing to take a paycut to leave PSG? If Ibra goes, I can see Silva...

Transfers and Rumours - old thread

40m for Silva 40m for Suarez (maybe Aguero) 15m for Ter Stegen is what I'd go for. However, I wouldn't mind something like: 25m for Hummels 15m for Inigo Martinez (or another young CB) 20m? for Lewandowski (not sure about this one) 15m for Ter Stegen 30m for Neymar I wouldn't mind Neymar...

Transfers and Rumours - old thread

We don't need a midfielder either. IMO, we only really need a CB, a GK and a striker (if Villa leaves). Once we have those though, I wouldn't mind Neymar/another winger and/or a 2nd CB if we have the money left over.

Transfers and Rumours - old thread

Yup. I wouldn't mind either of them.

    Gareth Bale

Doubt they're gonna get both Aguero and Bale if Ronaldo stays...

Transfers and Rumours - old thread

The thing is, if we get a new striker, we need someone like Suarez/Aguero who can also play on the wing IMO. We can always move the new forward to the striker position and Messi to CAM when we need to, but we should play Messi in his best position most of the time IMO.

    Mats Hummels

    He's 28, actually.

    Mats Hummels

Mainly coz Hummels is slow and too similar to Pique. It's a valid point IMO. I'm not saying he will definitely fail with Pique, I just think a Silva/Pique partnership would be better and would have a higher chance of succeeding.

    Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

Apparently, he prefers Silva to Hummels. Agree with the Reina bit though, I really hope the Reina rumors aren't true.

    Mats or Thiago ?

Not sure. Silva is better, not to mention he fits our needs better (he's fast, etc), but Hummels is younger and cheaper. I think getting Silva + someone like Marquinhos or Inigo Martinez would be ideal, though I'm not sure how realistic that is.

How much would you would be sufficient to sell Dani Alves?

I wouldn't sell him, bench him for Montoya at most (and I don't think we even need to do that, just rotate him more with Montoya to keep him on his toes). If we did sell him though, I think we'd get about 20m, give or take.

    Mats Hummels

    Apparently he prefers Silva

    Most underrated player in football?

He's not as underrated as he used to be, but he's still underrated IMO. And tbh, I think he will always be underrated to some extent, because of that peekaboo incident. I mean, he's probably the best CDM in the world. You'd have a hard time finding a non Barca fan who agrees.

    14 - Javier Mascherano

If we get 2 CBs (which some rumors say we will), we'll need to get rid of 1, coz we don't need 6. I'd loan Bartra and then maybe sell Masch the following season.

    Thiago Silva

Inigo Martinez and Kurt Zouma would be good options too, from what I've heard about them.
  17. darthvader7888

    Thiago Silva

According to the rumors, we're also interested in Marquinhos. I think the best option would be getting Silva and Marquinhos (or some other wonderkid CB), though that would be expensive as hell, and I'm not sure we could pull it off.

    Thiago Silva

Barcastuff: PSG centre back Thiago Silva (28) is Vilanova's first option. First contacts have been made. Barcelona are willing to pay around 40M [sport]

    Mats Hummels

I wouldn't mind us buying Silva along with someone young like Marquinhos. Hummels definitely has his advantages though, like you said, he's younger and cheaper. I think Silva + someone young would be the best option, though it'd probably be expensive as hell.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

Well, when Villa doesn't play, Messi is our only scoring threat. I don't think it's Messi's fault though, nor do I think it's because of the number of goals he scores.
