Actually, I wouldn't mind us getting a more defensive LB (since we already have a defensive RB in Montoya) and using Adriano as a backup RB. That way, we have 1 attacking RB, 1 defensive RB, 1 attacking LB and 1 defensive LB.

It seems that Neymar only wants to go to Barca, and he's on the last year of his contract, so doing this makes sense.

Dante's amazing, from what I've heard (though I've also heard that Boateng and van Buyten are pretty meh). He doesn't start for Brazil ahead of fucking David Luiz though, so who knows...

This. Marquinhos could work, especially with pressing and better tactics, but I'd go for someone more proven like Silva. Marquinhos would definitely be a better choice than some of the other rumored targets (*cough cough* Vermaelen *cough cough* David Luiz), though that's not really saying much.

I'm starting to think you and the others who are saying this have a point. There was that stretch from the 3-0 against Spartak until the 3-1 against Malaga when we were playing great, scoring 3-4 goals in pretty much every game. And Alves was injured for most of that stretch. Makes you wonder...

You know what would help him grow? Getting a coach who will actually give him playing time. Anyways, if Thiago doesn't play the full 90 minutes in both of the remaining games... :facepalm: He should have played the full 90 minutes in every game since we won the league.

His leadership is important, no doubt about that, but the lack of pace with a Pique/Puyol pairing is a problem, especially considering we play a high line. It's part of why we've been so shitty at defending counter-attacks this season. Don't get me wrong though, I think Puyol can be a great 3rd...

I'm afraid we can't rely on Puyol any more, since he's old, slow (meaning him + Pique doesn't work nearly as well as it used to), not as good as he used to be and injury prone. We need to get someone we can rely on for big games. Who knows though, maybe the first half of the season could be...
