I don't really think there's been a truly outstanding centre-back so far this season in European football. Not like Rio Ferdinand was between 2006 and 2008 and Pique/Vidic/Lucio stood out in 2008/09 and last season.

First leg - we have Sporting (away), Athletic (home) and Mallorca (away) around that time. Second leg - we have Zaragoza (home), Sevilla (away), Getafe (home) around that time.
