    Pep Guardiola

Hard to say. Once his time at Barcelona is done I think he'll take a long rest before choosing his next move. I could see him at Athletic Bilbao or Arsenal or maybe even the Spanish NT. Compared to Barcelona, especially as a fan of the club, the stress will be significantly less. Or he'll...

    Pep Guardiola

Both Laporta and Rosell have tried to tie him down with many longer contract offers. He's rejected them all simply because he likes to work on a year-by-year basis. I'd posit that it's because of the era he grew up in as a Barcelona fan/player. Once a coach of Madrid or Barcelona gets to three...

    Sergio Busquets

I disagree tbh, he shows quite a lot of aesthetically pleasing flair on the ball. Probably more than anyone outside of Iniesta and Messi.

    14 - Javier Mascherano

    It's not going to happen.

    Nuri Sahin

I believe it's him then Cossu, then Ozil, then Xavi. Something like that.

    Real Madrid (old thread)

I don't see how Sahin can be overrated... He's young and has just played a major role in a title-winning Dortmund side. He's now stepping up a level in terms of clubs and we'll see how he does.

2011 CL Final: FC Barcelona - Manchester United FC 3-1 - Champions!

Rooney's great but I don't know about him at Barcelona. He loses effectiveness in front of goal when he plays out wide (which is obviously where he'd play for Barcelona). Unless we just make Messi an AM when Xavi gets too old and have Rooney ahead of him. That'd be pretty tasty.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

Has this been posted in here? I like it :D

    Rijkaard or Pep?

I love Rijkaard but it's clearly Pep.

    Andrea Pirlo

Great player in his prime but 2011 version? Nahhhhh.

2011 CL Final: FC Barcelona - Manchester United FC 3-1 - Champions!

I'd prefer Ferdinand being out to anyone else tbh, if it came down to choosing one of their players.

    Emmanuel Adebayor

Let's hope his bizarre cameo in Spanish football remains just that. Although it's amusing to see Beast flip out about him

2011 CL Final: FC Barcelona - Manchester United FC 3-1 - Champions!

Meh, hoping someone is injured is weak. I hope both teams can put out their best players... Why not have a spectacle?
  14. Myrmecophile

    Nuri Sahin

Alonso has one as well, I think.
  15. Myrmecophile

    Jose Mourinho

Clearly Mourinho wants/wanted the Barcelona job above all else. I mean, he was interviewed for the job by Laporta (et al) in 2008 but the club went with Pep over him. That's gotta sting.

2011 CL Final: FC Barcelona - Manchester United FC 3-1 - Champions!

It's to be expected, hard to sustain being the best team around for three years without annoying a few people/there being a backlash. If we're rubbish next season and another team becomes dominant, the focus will shift to them.
  17. Myrmecophile

    Andrés Iniesta

But even when Messi wasn't scoring he was still generally very good.
  18. Myrmecophile

    Jose Mourinho

Yep, very much so. I can't think of any team I wouldn't support over Real Madrid  Even Lazio, Rangers, etc.

Has someone really written "We invented this sport remember" on here
  20. Myrmecophile

    Andrés Iniesta

Forwards - all forwards - lose form at some point during a season. Messi should have scored 65+ this season if we're going on his best form but it's unsustainable over 9 months. Even if you think of the best individual seasons players have had in the recent past (Dinho 05/06, Messi 10/11...
