Is he going to do better than Ancelotti? most likely not, he will also clash with several players who have too big ego's.
Real will be back to the beautiful era of the last 16th cl struggles. (only without la liga wins).
After a treble winning season Messi was always going to win. Wont change that Ronaldo will still be scoring hattricks for fun, highly motivated next season but realistically it should be more about if he would be in the top 3 this year or not than wether or not he can win.
Brazil used to ooze quality, nowadays its Neymar, a few decent players and several scrubs. I like Brazil if the 80's and late 90's early 00's. 2006 was extremely strong on paper but not so great on the pitch, like Barca in 08.
Messi can still easily save his tournament by winning it and showing up in the final two games, especially the final.
But he just needs luck, Argentina are not a great side just a bunch of individuals stuck together.
I agree with you but people who say he is playing badly are off as well. Yesterday he was easily the best player after Ospina. His finishing is just off bur besides that given the circumstances his passing and especially his dribbling are great. Especially when colombia got a free pass to foul...
I hope Argentina gets kicked out, all the players lack motivation and dont want to win this copa, no matter what they say, there is no fire in them nor are they a team, just a bunch of individuals stuck together.
I always felt he underperformed in 98. Beforehand there was talk of him breaking fontaines record amd blazing trough opponents. Yet the only game he actually showed up was vs Chile. He was much better in 2002 bur even the contributions of dinho and especially Rivaldo get underrated.
I always thought Perez only bought Bale cause he could not get Neymar and wanted to take some attention away from Barca like "look I got a galactico signing as well, Real Madrid is better!" and now he needs him to succeed to save face.
with Ronaldo everything seemed fine until after Iniesta...
